Held in September every year, the Agatha Christie Tea Dance is one of the most elegant Paignton events. Torbay is the home of all events that celebrate Agatha Christie and her life and times, and this is one of many popular tributes to the famous Torquay resident. The tea dance tends to take place from 3.30pm – 6.30pm and is part of the very special Agatha Christie Festival (that always falls upon her birthday).
This traditional tea dance includes music from the band ‘High Society’ to get you into the spirit of things, and a cream tea – in the same ballroom that Agatha Christie herself danced in. Step back in time for an evening of nostalgia during a stay in Paignton, this is always a friendly event that welcomes all. The ballroom is all the more special as it once hosted a performance by Isadora Duncan. Period costume is encouraged for this special event, so celebrate the birthday of Agatha Christie’s birth in style.
