Beautiful countryside retreat

If you are looking for a countryside retreat with modern fitments with plenty of space to stretch out into then Watery Lane Cottage is place to go. This well appointed cottage has some lovely scenic walks on it's doorstep. For eating out, there is a very good inn in the village of Luton just 2 miles away called The Elizabethan Inn. The cottage is perfectly located within easy reach of all that Devon has to offer holidaymakers. The cottage is very close to Ugbrooke house and the seaside town of Teignmouth. We would definitely recommend this rental cottage and would book again when coming back to South Devon.

Watery Lane Cottage

This was the second time we have stayed at Watery Lane Cottage and both were without fault. The cleanliness and quality of the property and its contents were second to none. The attentiveness of the owners was welcoming but not intrusive. Having holidayed with my husband, daughter and her partner, son and his partner and my two young grandchildren I can say that the property was very well equipped for all ages!

Beautiful Cottage

The Cottage is beautifully furnished, clean and very well equipped. We appreciated the extra touches: milk, scones and cream, flowers and toiletnes. The weather was surprisingly mild and we enjoyed the beach at Sidmouth, the Dankey Sanctuary and the boys liked cycling from Exeter along the river.

As always we had a fantastic stay,

Back once again with yet another child each time we come. Still more than enough space even now we are 5. As always we had a fantastic stay, wonderful cottage and surroundings. Kids loved the horse-riding at Hayes Farm. Will be back (but not with any more children!).

Watery Lane Cottage

Watery lane cottage is a lovely place, comfy, clean and quiet. If you are looking for somewhere away from the hustle and bustle of a seaside town then this is your place. It is still only a short drive away from local conveniences.

Watery Lane Cottage

Great website, easy to use. Found a really great modern clean dog friendly cottage in a great location. 15 minutes drive to beach/moors. Owners friendly. Fresh eggs from chickens. What more could you want from a short break.

The location is fabulous

First time that we have stayed at these beautifully laid our cottages and we have really loved staying here. The location is fabulous, a real tranquil spot away from the hussle and bustle of normal life. Our pet dog settled down quickly and enjoyed the numerous walks this area has to offer. A perfect spot for us and will definitely return.

Watery Lane Cottage

Beautiful cottage in a beautiful location off the beaten track. But not far from the beach, local towns and tourist places in south Devon. We thoroughly enjoyed our holiday and will be returning to Watery Lane cottage at some point in the future.

Devon dreams.

Beautiful house in beautiful setting. After many holidays in Devon this was the best yet. Although the weather helped, it was glorious, coming back each day to a comfortable clean house made all the difference. Katie has done a wonderful job creating the perfect break. We arrived to find flowers, milk in the fridge, beautifully clean bedding, fluffy towels, toiletries and even a cream tea waiting for us.

Watery lane cottage

Cottage was spacious, and clean. Lovely bed linen and big fluffy towels. The fenced and gated terrace was secure for our bichone frise dog. The road entrance to the property needs some attention. Good location close to a380. Pub at luton, the elizabethan, very nice and good food.

Great Holiday

What a great holiday location. It took us 2 days to get here and the local lanes are really scary but it was well worth it. The cottage is fantastic and very well equipped. The surrounding countryside is really peaceful and idyllic. We loved our stay here and the weather was exceptional. If you cane face the knuckle- biting drive through Ideford to Luton, we recommend the excellent food. Thanks for a great holiday.

A little slice of heaven in Devon!

A little slice of heaven in Devon! We all had a fab time and are already looking forward to our next stay! Our dog Buddy, will definitely miss his little chill out area under the patio table and collecting stones from the stream at the end of the bridle path. If you have a dog, we thoroughly recommend Teignmouth Beach – there is an all year round part that allows dogs – it’s at the far end towards the church – brilliant. Thanks for the welcome sconce, delicious.

Beautiful Cottage in a tranquil setting

We visited as a family of 11 so rented this and also the cottage next door, the setting was just perfect...peaceful and beautiful. The property was maintained to a high standard with quality fixtures and fittings so it made you feel as though you were in a "home" instead of a holiday rental. The property manager was easy to get hold of and answered any questions we had, I would have no problem in recommending this property to anyone and would class this as one of the best we have ever stayed in.

Lovely Home

Had a lovely time in your home, everything you can ever want, including lovely weather, we're been so lucky. We were staying with more family in the house next door. We hope to back again in the future. Thank you also for the lovely scones clotted cream, they were eaten very quickly with a cup of tea on arrival, the best scones I've tasted, so thanks again.

A very comfortable stay in your lovely cottage

Thank you for a very comfortable stay in your lovely cottage during a week of near perfect weather. As said previously, the cream tea welcome was a very nice touch with the milk in the fridge. We particularly enjoyed sitting out on the patio with a nice glass of wine. If you have dogs, as we do, and are wondering where to eat in the evenings, we would recommend two places, The Royal Oak which is just around the corner in Ideford so not far to drive after a busy day and The Barn Owl in Newton Abbot. Both were very welcoming with very reasonably prices food. A great week all round. Thanks
