Tucked in the countryside between Ashburton and Newton Abbot in South Devon, there’s something magical about Seale-Hayne that makes it a truly relaxing place to spend time. Life centres around the elegant building at the heart of the estate, and everything inside and around it has been carefully adapted to make things accessible for those with disabilities.
We have two safari tents right in the grounds of the estate, and they’re perfect for those of you keen to reignite your spirit of adventure and feel close to nature (with a little comfort thrown in of course!). Dog friendly, and spacious enough for you to unwind, our safari tents will inspire those of you who love to take the path less travelled…
Hannah's at Seale-Hayne
With a reputation for serving up some of the best roasts in the county, Hannah’s Bistro feels all the more special for its wooden panelled walls and stone fireplace, and it’s the kind of eatery that’ll have you jotting down the recipe in your napkin before the next course.
There's something of a Downton feel to the decor in the bistro, and they serve up everything from homemade cakes to main meals. Whether you pop in for a cosy lunch after a wander around the grounds, or for that special meal for two during a romantic glamping escape, you’ll find something to suit every occasion.
Arts and Crafts
If you’ve a passion for arts and crafts, you’ll be in your element at Seale-Hayne. Just the place to find some inspiration, the building’s home to an art gallery, and it showcases local artwork all year round. You’ll find all kinds of exhibitions, and you’re welcome to wander the studios and workshops and see where some of the resident artists work their magic.
There's plenty of opportunity to pick up some of the creations too, as you'll find handmade items on sale in the Seale-Hayne shop. So, that's the holiday shopping sorted...
When we say that Seale-Hayne’s one of the friendliest places in the county we genuinely mean it, and the accessible nightclub on the site holds Friday Inc. on the third Friday of each month. There’s always a party atmosphere, and everyone’s welcome to go along and enjoy music, good fun and a sociable environment.
The main building’s Great Hall often hosts concerts and live music too, so you might just be able to get tickets for an orchestral concert, live theatre or one of the regular dances that take place throughout the year.
They’ve thought of everything at Seale-Hayne, and for those days that are all about closing your eyes and enjoying a little pampering you’ll find therapies and wellbeing experts available for an extra cost. Whether you fancy a yoga session, a massage or treating yourself to a new hairstyle, you’ll find a whole selection of services available right on the Seale-Hayne estate.
