Description

An elegant home from home in beautiful Kingswear, Marina View offers a bright and comfortable living space, and with a private balcony you’ll never be more than one step away from the sight of the South Hams countryside in all its glory. The balcony offers panoramic views across the sweeping countryside, over to Dartmouth and right round to the mouth of the ever-busy River Dart.

There’s a light, airy feel throughout Marina View and there are two large bedrooms, both with double beds, and feature fireplaces. The master bedroom has the advantage of a brilliantly placed, enclosed balcony with a table and chairs overlooking Kingswear marina, so guests can sit back and just enjoy the scenery.

Kingswear stands on the east bank of the River Dart, close to the estuary entrance and opposite the historic sea-faring town of Dartmouth. It is famed in the nautical world for its privately owned marina and for being a sailing hub for all ages and abilities.

The village is an active community and offers a year round ferry service across the river, a village store selling local produce, several inns, a post office and home of the Royal Dart Yacht Club.

The popular Blue Flag beaches in Torbay are just a short drive away, as are the brilliant family days out at Woodlands Theme Park and Paignton Zoo.

Marina View, Kingswear

We had a really relaxing experience staying at Marina View. Its situation overlooking Dartmouth and the river were glorious to wake up to every day. The 2 balconies were a distinct advantage, could have sat there all day! The house is ideally located and trips over the ferry to Dartmouth easy and inexpensive. The house itself has everything you could need and is beautifully furnished and clean. We would happily visit here again. Thank you!

I would thoroughly recommend this holiday home

The accommodation is spacious over two floors, decorated to a high standard with stunning views of the Dart estuary. There are two balconies on each floor both overlooking estuary (one enclosed in a small conservatory and great to sit in if the weather is colder). The location was quiet (we were there October half-term). There are two well stocked shops nearby and the Ship Inn pub which does good food in evening and ferries to Dartmouth ran regularly where there are great choices of eating places, shops, art galleries. There are also many spectacular river and boat trips. We had great fun taking the round-robin trip starting on the steam train at Kingswear (its worth paying the extra first-class fare on train for seats at front of train) to Paignton, bus to Totnes and Boat trip back down the Dart to Dartmouth pier . I would thoroughly recommend this holiday home and would like to thank the owners for catering for all our needs by having excellent facilities in the home that catered for all our needs. Thank you from Mr & Mrs Willis

Wonderful New Year location

My wife and I spent New Year in Marina View, Kingswear. The accommodation and location was wonderful. Just loved sitting out on the heated double glazed balcony off the bedroom for breakfast and evening meals looking out over the estuary and Dartmouth. Everything about this property was such good quality and well maintained.

Marina View, Kingswear

Had a wonderful holiday in this apartment. Everything about it was first class.. the views were magnificent over the River Dart and we were lucky with the weather. We would definitely return and would recommend to anyone. We have stayed at several Kingswear properties in the past few years and this was by far the best.

Marina View Kingswear

June 2015 A great weeks holiday at Marina View Kingswear. The property was amazing. Spotlessly clean, spacious and bright, fantastic views and everything you could possibly need. The blackout blinds were a bonus. Parking was not a problem. Unloaded directly outside the property and parked in the Marina car park. Paid for a weeks parking, then in and out as you please. On street parking is also available. Easy stroll down to the ferries and train.

Superb cottage overlooking the River Dart

After viewing the pictures online we were looking forward to seeing our home for the next 7 days. On entering the cottage we were pleasantly surprised that the interior was even better than the brochure. The cottage had obviously recently been refurbished to a very high standard and all the rooms were well decorated and contained quality furnishings. The views from both the lounge and main bedroom were superb as they overlooked the River Dart towards Dartmouth. We were visited by the steam railway several times a day which was very nostalgic! The cottage had everything we could ask for, the only downside was the lack of car parking although the public car park is only 100 yards away. Anyone wishing to visit this part of Devon will not be disappointed and we would highly recommend Marina View.

A lovely week at Marina View ,Kingswear Devon

This is a very comfortable ,well designed and well equipped property occupying a lovely position with great views over the River Dart and the Royal Navel College in Dartmouth. Particularly liked its comfort ,the convenience of two bathrooms and conservatory accessed through the bedroom .We had all of our meals in the conservatory which must rank as one of the best places to eat in the Area! Plenty to watch all day on the river and marina plus the Heritage Steam Railway that runs services three times a day. Lovely but potentially strenuous walks stretch both ways up down the River Dart and hills and link to the South West Coastal Path or the Dart Valley Trail. Two National Trust properties are fairly close and well worth a visit -one being Coleton Fishacre and the other at Greenway. As far as pubs/restaurants are concerned we didn't try any of the three locally available although did use the passenger ferry across to Dartmouth (£1.50 each) and ate in the Seahorse which was excellent although a tad expensive. The only downside is having to use the higher or lower Ferry if you want to get the car across to Dartmouth although with management of routes its possible to minimize the number of times that it is used(at £4.50 per single trip) In conclusion we had a great week in Kingswear .

Perfect house and location

We stayed at Marina View for 5 nights in September. The property is beautifully appointed with a wonderful view across the river Dart to Dartmouth. The enclosed balcony is a perfect place to sit whatever the weather. The kitchen is extremely well-equipped and there are lots of books and Sky+ TV. The two double-bedded bedrooms are excellent, the shower room is very large and luxurious and the bathroom is lovely.....however there isn't a shower over the bath in the bathroom which may not be too convenient if two couples are staying. Although parking is slightly restricted for two hours in the day you can park in an upper road free of charge and walk down a steep path to the house. However during our stay we didn't use the car as we travelled by steam train, bus and boat! There is a good village store a few yards down the road, also café and pubs. We shall definitely return to Marina View for another relaxing holiday.

Our stay at Marina View Kingswear

We last stayed at Marina View in 2010 and would have returned sooner but it was taken off the market .It's the only property we've stayed at where you don't mind if the weathers bad because the views from the covered balcony are fantastic.Hope to return soon.
