Superb cottage in quiet, attractive Devon village

My husband and I spent a week at Mythra Cottage in early September 2014. I can honestly say that it rates as the best cottage let that we have ever made. The cottage is spacious, beautifully finished and spotless. Furniture, amenities and equipment are excellent throughout although the TV is a little sad - this didn't worry us particularly. Everything works as it should and there is a real sense of being a welcome and established guest rather than an anonymous client. The cottage has been planned and decorated with care and personal attention; it has been lovingly created by hands and hearts that were happy there. The garden is a delight though steep. It repays a climb to the top - and not simply to ensure a solid mobile phone signal! Parking isn't great - we couldn't get our average sized family car into the garage. However we took our cue from some neighbours and tucked in on the road just beyond the cottage. It didn't seem to cause any grief or concern during the course of the week. Stokenham proved an excellent centre from which to explore South Hams and we spent our week exploring between Bigbury and Dartmouth. Kingsbridge is a delight in itself and has a good range of shops and restaurants. The local pubs and restaurants were very good. We particularly liked: Britannia @ the Beach at Beesands (book for beautiful fish menu), The Start Bay Inn at Torcross (very busy early evening) and Stokenham's own Tradesman's Inn (good food and friendly service). The latter is just two doors away from the cottage. At the end of a lovely holiday we often say that we'll return and rarely do. This could well prove the exception. Outstanding value and a genuinely lovely cottage.

Great place to stay.

We had a wonderful week in Myrthra cottage. Location was perfect, close to the sea. The premises are high standard, including renovated bathrooms and toilets, always nice to have. If you want to relax and enjoy high standards, don't hesitate.

Myrtha Cottage, Stokenham

Excellent facilities and furnished to a very high standard. Superb kitchen/diner and lovely lounge, together with great bathroom and shower. Beautiful garden although because of landscape not suitable for small children.
