The Devon Wildlife Trust Dunsdon National Nature Reserve is a popular great spot for a walk in Holsworthy, and it is set apart from the other reserves in the area by its examples of Culm Grassland.
This heathy pasture is only found in the west Devon area and gains a distinctive marshy texture from the geology of the terrain - so there’s a fact to take home to your friends! Although boggy in appearance, the benefit of Culm Grassland is that it produces stunning wild flowers, so look out for blazing blooms in the area.
Whether you're fascinated by Devon's wildlife or you just fancy somewhere different for a walk during a stay nearby, you'll find the nature reserve beautiful in any season. That said, we'd recommend a visit at the start of the summer as thanks to the blooms and fauna it's at its most stunning.
