Prospect House

Prospect House

Hallsands, Devon
4 Star Platinum

Home to a collection of four beautiful properties, Prospect House is a classic, New England style house that looks out to sea in the sleepy Devon village of Hallsands. Our Prospect House properties have bright, open plan designs, as well as use of the shared gardens, tennis courts and swimming pool. And it’s great news for walkers, as they’re so close to the South West Coast Path that you can almost hear the waves.

Prospect House is home to three apartments and 2 Edith Mews, a beautiful semi detached house, and no matter which you opt for, you’ll enjoy use of the communal swimming pool between the months of May and September, and we can’t think of a better way to unwind after a day taking in the dramatic Devon scenery as you wander the surrounding coastline…

Every apartment has a chic, New England style décor that gives them the kind of look that wouldn’t be out of place on the pages of a glossy magazine, and with corner sofas, Juliette balconies to showcase sea views (in Apartment 7 and Number 2 Prospect House), and WiFi to keep you connected to those back home, Prospect House is one of our best-loved choices in the beautiful South Hams.

The shared, heated pool in the grounds of Prospect House makes the perfect way to wind down and cool off after a long walk along the coast. Open between May and September, the pool has plenty of space for those of you who like to complete a few lengths to burn off all those cream teas during your holiday, or, if you’re content to just enjoy the peace and quiet while the kids play in the water, you’ll find sun loungers beside the pool so that you can sit back and enjoy the sunshine instead.

If it’s been way too long since you started your day with a quiet dip in the pool and rounded it off with a swim before dinner, a stay at Prospect House is the perfect excuse to dig out your favourite swimming costume and make the most of having a pool just moments from your apartment.

Shared gardens

With a setting on the gorgeous South Devon coast, Prospect House is the kind of resort where life tends to end up revolving around long days outside enjoying the sea breeze and the peace and quiet, and the communal gardens mean there’s plenty of space to relax in style without even leaving the grounds.

Whether you while away long sunny afternoons curled up in the shade with a book while the kids play, or you make the most of the surroundings with a family picnic after a dip in the onsite swimming pool, the grounds have plenty of space for everyone to find a spot and make them their own. You’ll even find a tennis court onsite for those times when it’s all about showing off your skills…

Tennis court

When we say they’ve thought of everything at Prospect House we don’t mind it lightly, we mean you’ll find touch after touch that’ll make your stay extra special, and the shared tennis court’s just another one.

Perfect for those days when you fancy letting off steam but you’re content to stay close to your apartment, the communal tennis court in the garden means you can challenge your family to a tournament and spend an hour or two showing off your serve. Don’t worry if you’re not quite ready for Wimbledon yet, the courts mean you can try your hand at something new during your stay.

You can indulge in the best of both worlds in Hallsands, as not only do you have all the quaint little things we love about Devon life right on your doorstep, but you’re within easy reach of days out such as Kingsbridge, Torcross and Dartmouth.

Hallsands and the nearby village of Beesands are home to the kind of unassuming pubs that serve up fresh local produce, and if you’ve a hankering for seafood and a warm welcome after a busy day, you’ll have your pick.

For a walk with a bit of a difference, wander the South West Coast Path to the ghost village of Hallsands, which is all that remains of the original village swept away by storms more than a century ago. Or, stroll the four miles to Torcross and the gorgeous Slapton Sands.
