Otterton Mill sits beside the River Otter in one of the coastal valleys of East Devon. This is the place to catch a glimpse into the Devon of days gone by, when flour milling and bread baking were part of everyday life.
The mill’s peaceful setting means it’s a relaxing day out and a chance to enjoy history in a beautiful setting, and there are crafts and demonstrations throughout the day too. Visitors can pick up a unique, handmade souvenir in the gift shop, browse local artwork in the gallery or even enjoy live music in this picturesque location.
Otterton usually mills twice each month, producing 12 tonnes of flour every year. There aren’t many places where you can buy a bag of fresh wholemeal flour produced in the way it’s been made for more than a thousand years, and Otterton Mill’s shop stocks just that.
This attraction is open every day of the week and it hosts regular live events, please check the official website for what’s on before you plan your visit. There are often sell-out music nights held at the mill, and tickets include seasonal food and entry to the show.
