Exmouth is a large seaside town in East Devon and the popular sandy beach starts at Exmouth harbour and rolls on for two miles of bliss. There’s parking nearby and you can pick up a boat trip with Stuart Line Cruises and explore the Jurassic coastline, visit Torquay, Brixham or Sidmouth.
Although it gets busy in the summer there’s so much room that this beach doesn’t feel overcrowded, and there’s a dog ban during the summer months. The dunes that back the beach make great spots to curl up with a book and it’s not uncommon to come across beachgoers having a sneaky snooze in them on a warm day!
The sands at Exmouth beach are ideal for the little ones to rockpool, and while many visitors are content to unroll the towels and set about relaxing the area’s also good for windsurfing. The waters are some of the safest in the region, so this is also a popular place to canoe and enjoy the views from the water.
Exmouth Beach is a great spot for the fishermen amongst you too, and you can choose between beach fishing or boat fishing trips that take you out to the wrecks in the surrounding waters.
