If you’re a bit of a foodie at heart, a big part of staying in Devon is sampling the local tastes and flavours, and Greendale Farm Shop is one of those hidden gems that you won’t want to miss out on. No matter what the season, the farm shop’s shelves overflow with fruit, veg and all the other goodies we know and love Devon for, and everything’s fresh fresh fresh.
Most of the vegetables are grown right there on the farm, and the delicatessen serves up homemade pasties, pies, black pudding and other treats that we think you should indulge in since you’re on holiday. Many of the shop’s cheeses have more than the odd award to their name, and the shop’s great for those holiday essentials like milk and cream. And when we say fresh, we mean most of it’s delivered on the day from the nearby farms and the free range chickens can be seen wandering the farm’s grounds.
We know what you’re thinking, and the good news is yes, there’s a café for those of you who can’t quite wait to sample the produce when you get home. Whether you stop off for brunch or just a snack, this is one of those spots that you just have to add to your list.
