A holiday to remember

Fantastic holiday in White Horses, Dawlish. Five star plus accommodation, everything that you need is catered for with many extras provided by owners. Lovely linens, fluffy towels and comfy beds. Welcome pack over and beyond expectations. The view from house is stunning, only five minutes stroll into town of Dawlish and train station. Rail cost very cheap, take train to Exeter Central and Exmouth, not worth taking the car. Brilliant holiday will be going next year........

Excellent house

We stayed at Whitehorses with our 3 young children; this has to be the best house we have ever stayed in. Well equipped, beautiful house with good views out to sea; close to the town just a 5-10 min walk. The children loved the swings in the garden and the toys in the play room. We would definitely stay here again.

The Holiday accomodation was to a very high standard, overlooking the sea & only 10min walk to Dawlish centre. The only drawback - wished we'd booked for longer than a week. Would highly recommend this property.

Best Holiday Ever

Our holiday at Whitehorses was an excellent experience from start to finish. The house is exceptional. The owners are very friendly and helpful. The location couldn't be better. Plenty to do in the area, lovely beaches, Dawlish is a beautiful place. Public transport is really good if you want to do without the car for a few days. Cannot recommend this location enough.

Very well equipped and appointed house. The welcome pack exceeded expectations and with presents under the Christmas tree and the ''grotto'' next door, we had a magical stay. Many thanks.

An excellent base

We spent a week at Whitehorses at Dawlish. The house served as an excellent base for our holiday. It is in a convenient place near to Dawlish centre and it takes only a few minutes to walk into the town. Admittedly it takes a few minutes more to walk back up the hill but really it isn't a problem at all for most. A walk across the road takes you to the footbridge across the busy but spectacular railway line: famed for its recent reconstruction after storm damage. From here you can see Dawlish station which has convenient trains which will take you south to Paignton and north to Exeter. If you ride to Paignton, pick up the Steam Train from there which will take you to Dartmouth and Kingswear Ferry. If you go to Exeter choose Exeter Central for the beautiful City Centre. Or ride all the way round to Exmouth. One trip not to miss is the nearby Starcross Ferry to Exmouth. This is a foot ferry but there is a car park in Starcross. Drive the short distance from Starcross to Cockwood and have a meal in The Anchor Inn afterwards. Near to Whitehorses there is a Sports Centre for tennis and swimming. As for the house itself, it provided us with spacious and comfortable accommodation. The sea views are worth the expense. The owners provided us with an extensive spread which goes under the title of 'Welcoming Pack'. It is far more generous than this suggests and set us up with basics, food, drink and Devon Cream Teas until we discovered the Cooperative in Dawlish and Sainsbury's towards Dawlish Warren. We had a fantastic holiday with the luxurious accommodation, excellent setting, many opportunities for exploration and the Railway all contributing to the experience. We highly recommend the house and the location.

Wonderful Devon Holiday

The house was wonderful, the sea views were just perfect as was the weather. The lovely treats awaiting us made the holiday start off so well. Just to sit outside in the garden looking out to sea with a glass of chilled wine and family around you to enjoy the experience was just perfect. The owners were unobtrusive but there if needed. The bedrooms were really comfortable as was the rest of the house with all that you could wish for. Thank you for such a lovely holiday.

Whitehorses

Wonderfully equipped house with stunning sea views. This is one of the finest and most tastefully furnished holiday houses we have stayed in. All the little touches really add that something special. The welcome pack was a very nice surprise, thank you for the treats. All in all we have had a splendid holiday exploring the area far and wide and coming back to a very comfortable home from home for relaxing evenings.

Lovely cottage in Dawlish

Thoroughly enjoyed our break at White Horses cottage. Lovely house with everything provided. The welcome pack was excellent and the host couple were lovely and helpful. Only minor complaint is the beds are very hard.
