We’ve always thought Dawlish is one of the best parts of South Devon for a long, scenic walk, and we’re happy to say that the first ever Dawlish Walking Festival’s going to be taking place from 1 – 10 April. Hurrah.
With its classic seafront, winding lanes and picturesque pathways, there’s a walk for every kind of visitor, and you’ll find more than 30 included in the festival programme. The guys behind the festival have worked the walks around various interests and abilities, so don’t worry if you’re not quite ready for some of the hilly hikes just yet.
If you’re in Dawlish on 1st April you’ll be able to mark the festival’s launch with the very relaxing Walking Meditation (leaving from the railway bridge on the seafront at 12.30pm) or the Evening Seafront Walk (at 6pm). Both walks are graded as suitable for all, and they’re a great way to get started and see what it’s all about.
The programme also includes poetry walks, railway history walks and a family wildlife safari, so make sure you dig out your walking boots and join one of the groups.
1st - 10th April 2016.
