Devon could have been made for adventurers, and GoApe, just 15 minutes from Exeter makes it easy for all ages to make like monkeys and get high up into the forest. Skim high above the treetops and admire views over Dartmoor in style as you ride the breathtaking zip wires, and that’s after you test your determination as you climb, clamber and cling your way up and down towering trees.
The highlights of GoApe are its two 235m zip wires, as how often do you get to glide above the world? There are different courses for different levels and ages, and if you don’t want to tackle a particular section you can always skip it and move on to the next one. That said, once you get started there’ll be no stopping you from launching yourself from Tarzan swings and tackling crossings to make it to the next stage.
GoApe is located in Haldon Forest Park, and it’s a popular place for a bike ride or a walk after you’ve finished monkeying around. Each session at GoApe takes around 3 hours, and you’ll be fully briefed before you start to make sure you’re safe at all times. The highest point of the course is 14m(trust us, it feels a lot higher when you’re getting ready to leap) and there are an impressive 39 crossings, so prepare to rediscover muscles you’d forgotten existed.
