If you visit the South Devon coastline during the summer months you won’t have to wait too long before you catch your first firework display, and the annual Grand Firework Display just along the coast from Dawlish at Dawlish Warren is one of the most impressive.
There’s something about fireworks that reflect in the sea below that makes them even more spectacular than usual, and there’s always free entertainment to draw the crowds from around 7pm. Visitors turn up in their hundreds to enjoy hot food, drinks and live music as they find a spot to enjoy the sight of the sky lighting up. The fireworks start at around 9pm, and although this is a free event donations are always welcome.
Dawlish Warren is the kind of resort that could have been made for family holidays. Amusements nestle in the fluffy dunes and the sandy beach nearby has a Blue Flag to its name, so it’s always an idea to make a day of it and stay on for the event as night falls.
