Those guests who time their Dawlish holidays during carnival week in August are treated to one of the South West’s largest annual events. Carnival Week is one of Devon’s most popular events, and highlights include the air show with an annual Red Arrows display. The event always takes place during August and it attracts visitors from all over the region.
There’s always a lively carnival procession that winds its way for more than two miles around the town, and previous years have seen so many floats that the parade itself stretched for more than a mile. Dawlish is a friendly town that holds local events dear, so expect a week of family fun where everybody’s welcome. There are usually free events around the town throughout the week too, so you’ll be treated to entertainment at every turn.
