A great apartment in the heart of Dartmouth

Merchants Rise is a lovely apartment right in the heart of Dartmouth. The property has been decorated to a really good standard and is also really spacious. The kids loved their bunk bed. Breakfast at Al Frescos is a must!

Fabulous holiday apartment in Dartmouth town centre!

Excellent apartment spotlessly clean. Steps not suitable for elderly or small children but otherwise everything was superb!

Merchants Rise

We had a lovely stay at Merchants Rise, which was very clean and well fitted out, great location being right in the centre of Dartmouth. Great food and staff at the hotel where we picked up our keys, would recommend merchants rise for a lovely break Mr and Mrs Sharkey

Perfect location

Perfect location and with parking, our apartment was spotless, we were aware of the steep stairs and yes steep is an understatement so this apartment is certainly not suitable for young children and the elderly, it was a struggle unloading our cases/shopping whist trying to park outside and taking items upstairs as the garage was around the corner. This wouldn't stop us from returning we will certainly be back, Blue Chip were very friendly and helpful when I made my booking nothing was any trouble. Whilst the apartment is central we wouldn't stay here in the summer as we would prefer some outside space/views, we found it perfect for our long weekend.

Merchants Rise

Merchants Rise is a lovely apartment, very clean and comfortable, great for being in the centre of town. The only drawback was the steepness of the spiral staircases, we took a dog with us which found it difficult to negotiate as they twist one way then the other half way up, causing her to fall on a couple if occasions. I feel this apartment is not really suitable for dogs.

Elegance in Dartmouth

We have just returned from a wonderful mini break in Dartmouth, staying at Merchants Rise. We would fully recommend this property being fantastically located, wonderfully decorated and very very clean. The booking experience was very good, this being the second time we have booked via Blue Chip. They even contacted us to ensure we had everything a few days before the holiday as their office was partially closed over the Xmas Break. All very much recommended.

Brilliant holiday in central Dartmouth

The accommodation was excellent and the facilities were very good. It was nice to have a facility where one could actually cook if one wanted to. We did because cooking is a hobby. We will be booking again for the first floor apartment as the steps to the second floor were a bit too treacherous for a couple of around 70 years old and I getting too old to lug suitcases up a narrow double helix staircase. A couple of improvements that would be good would be:- Provision of a hand towel in the kitchen (we used one from the second bedroom which we did not use). Provision of a TV or radio in the dining room so that one can watch the news and weather forecast whilst eating breakfast.

Dartmouth at its best

Had a lovely week at Merchants Rise in the centre of Dartmouth, lovely clean accomodation ideally positioned in Higher street. The bonus factor was the availability of a nearby garage, The car was left and we took advantage of the Jubilee pass on the Dartmouth Steam railway. The spiral staircase was a little tricky with the cases , but we soon got use to them.

Great stay!

Lovely and very unique property perfect for exploring Dartmouth on foot. Property was well equipped and extremely comfortable. Location was great to be able to enjoy all the restaurants and simply stroll home! Couple of points - The staircases would be very tricky for very young children or elderly but for us it was all part of the charm ( how on earth did they get all the furniture in there?! ). The garage parking is only suitable for a small -mid size car, it is off a very narrow road and when sharing with another car it is very difficult to turn into. While we were there builders blocked it from 8 till 5 at night although happily moved when asked. Also, if you don't like the sound of seagulls then be warned as with windows open they make a lot of noise from sunrise. Great flat overall though and would definitely use again!
