With its long history as a bustling sailing port it’s no surprise that there are some pubs in Dartmouth that you seriously won’t want to leave, and one of them is The Floating Bridge. Recommended by The Good Pub Guide, this quayside pub has a spacious roof terrace and picnic sets that make the perfect places to enjoy a drink and admire the views.
If you choose to sit inside you can perch on one of the stools beside the windows and make the most of the views and the nostalgic photographs of local boat scenes that adorn the walls give the pub a nautical feel. The pub’s restaurant has also made it into The Good Pub Food Guide (well Dartmouth is Devon’s foodie capital after all!) and it serves food between 12 – 9.30pm.
Dogs are welcome in the dogs bar and the family room found at the back of the pub leads out onto the roof terrace, so whether you call in with your pet, the family or just for a quiet pint you’ll find a part of this comfortable pub that’s dedicated to your needs. The pub is as picturesque as your typical Dartmouth building too, with blooming flower boxes against a whitewashed exterior, so expect a welcoming experience in a great location.
