A cosy property with an amazing view!

My daughter and I stayed at The Mizzen for a week in August. Due to work commitments we didn't arrive until quite late but Angela and Jeff had kindly left the lights on for us and the sunflowers (plus other goodies) on the table at the top of the stairs were just stunning. The property was spotlessly clean, the kitchen well equipped and the mattress on the double bed so comfortable that I'm buying the exact same one for my bed at home! The steps down to the harbour kept us fit as we munched our way through cream teas, fish and chips, fudge, ice cream and many more 'naughty' treats. We would definitely visit again and would happily recommend to friends and family.

The Mizzen

Well! With so many wonderful reviews already written by previous holiday people staying here what more is there to say but to confirm it all. Like most reviewers, as soon as I walked in I felt I'd come home and certainly wish to return sooner or later. Almost like living in a boat, though with views like that perhaps a lighthouse. Just exactly as the photos that enticed me online in the first place. Fresh, pretty, spotlessly clean with its welcoming gourmet treats and fresh flowers, every attention to detail for a comfortable, comforting, uplifting stay. The Mizzen is just two or three minutes down the steps away from the centre of this lively little historic fishing harbour and village/town. To top it all, Jeff the owner was gracious enough to ferry me from previous and to my next destinations, actually holiday treats in themselves as the trips were through picture book countryside with enjoyable company.

Wonderful Cottage.

Lovely clean cottage. Every thing you could possibly need was provided in The Mizzen. The View is amazing and the owners provide binoculars so that you can sit and watch the different boats and ferries going in and out of Brixham. It was cosy and spotless clean. We had a super time and will definitely return. One point to note is that the cottage is elevated and there are 92 steps to negotiate up to the cottage. This might be difficult for older people.

The Mizzen

My word, what a fantastic welcome! We were blown away with the view and welcome gifts. Top marks from us on comfort and cleanliness. We had a wonderful time here and don't want to leave. Had a great trip on the Fairmile to Dartmouth and walked to Paignton along the coastal walk stopping at Broadsands for Lilly to swim and play on the sand. Look out for Sammy Seal, has been appearing most mornings has just come to say goodbye (down by Pilots boats). The Mizzen is highly recommended. Thank you so much

The Mizzen

Have just returned from a most pleasurable weeks holiday at the Mizzen (20 - 27th July). From start to finish we thoroughly enjoyed this accommodation. The property is a real credit to its owners. Perfect location, extremely well presented, spotlessly clean and nice to have the welcome gifts of flowers, cream tea and wine. Many thanks to Angela and Jeff for their attention to detail. Just love Brixham anyway but from the minute we walked in to the property we felt as though we wanted to live there permanently. The views from the lounge were outstanding and we spent many a happy hour just relaxing and taking in all the activity of the harbour. The overall presentation of the Mizzen was one of quality. A very cozy and comfortable cottage. The one and only point that we would comment on is that the number of steps up from the harbour are a little energy draining, particularly if you had been out walking all day. However once in the cottage this was rapidly forgotten and we relaxed and enjoyed the view. Overall our holiday was perfect and cannot wait to return. Wish we were still there now with this heat wave, perfect in every way.

The Mizzen

We have had a lovely time here in Brixham. Great accommodation, everything we needed in the Cottage. The weather has been fantastic. We enjoyed the wine you left so much that we took a trip to Lyme Bay winery to buy some to take home!

The Mizzen

Our first holiday experience with Blue Chip will certainly not be our last. Booking through Blue Chip could not have been easier. We booked online and all confirmation was quick and precise. The cottage we booked in Brixham was exactly as detailed in the online pictures and the views were magnificent. When we arrived at the cottage we were greeted with gifts of cream teas and wine which were a lovely surprise. The cottage was lovely and very clean. It had everything we needed for a self catering holiday including fresh milk in the fridge. The cottage was nicely decorated and the furniture very nice. The bed was extremely comfortable too. We would have no hesitation in recommending Blue Chip to our friends and family. We will be booking with them again very soon.

The Mizzen

Having just spent 4 nights in Brixham, booked through Blue Chip Holidays, I can highly recommend this cottage and the agent. We loved Brixham and the quaint 100 year old cottage on the outside was a complete surprise inside. Everything was modern and clean but hadn't lost any of the charm associated with a cottage. The area is delightful with plenty of restaurants and walks plus ferry trips to Torquay or Dartmouth if wanted.

The Mizzen

Thank you so much for the lovely welcome, the cream tea and wine did wonders to revive us after a long day on the M5. The Mizzen is a fabulous place to stay, we spent many hours looking out and watching the ships. We had some great walks to Torquay and Greenway. The day cruise to Dartmouth is really good value, though it is a shame we couldn't stay longer there. We recommend a visit to Lustleigh in Dartmoor as it is one of the prettiest villages we have ever seen, with a really nice pub. We have really enjoyed our stay and our batteries are now fully recharged. Thank you very much

The Mizzen

Brixham revealed itself slowly and magically though the fog and has been beautiful ever since. The house is comfortable and everything you need, especially the view. Walked out legs off from Kingswear to the house via Coleton Fishacre and the steps were almost the last straw! Thank you for the welcome!

The Mizzen

Had the most amazing time here! Despite the wet weather the views were beautiful and the days out were fantastic! Hadn't been to Brixham for many years and I must say it's not only very welcoming but the town is beautiful. Can't thank Ang & Jeff enough for the amazing break away. Happy 2013 everyone and I hope everyone staying here has a fantastic year! Lois & Ross. Essex.

Thank you very much for the warm welcome, flowers, wine and cream tea, it was very kind of you. The Mizzen is such a lovely house and the views are amazing. Brixham is one of my favourite places and staying here has been very enjoyable. I hope to stay here again in the future.

The Mizzen

We've had a very comfortable stay at The Mizzen. Everything lovely and the view truly beautiful. Thank you for the welcome pack which was devoured very quickly. Had a lovely time on the 'Fairmile' to Dartmouth, really enjoyed the vintage bus to Agatha Christie's home and a wonderful walk to Paignton to view the coves and the sandy beaches. Rain kept away for some of the time. We'll be back!

Thanks To Angela and Jeff for the fantastic welcome, the cottage with its view, outstanding. Loved every minute of it, we've had a great week crabbing, boating, lots of walking, eating and drinking.
