Description

Stonewater Barn is an architect designed barn conversion with modern furnishings and a large garden, located in the picturesque fishing town of Brixham.

Internally, the property is fully equipped with a contemporary, stylish kitchen and cosy living room.  Its relaxing atmosphere makes it an ideal setting for romantic getaways and with Brixham town and harbour only a 20 minute walk away there’s plenty to do and see nearby.

Why not request use of the Yoga pavilion during your stay and take your relaxation to another level!  The property overlooks a large lawned area with an idyllic stream running through the garden down to the pond. The furnished decking is ideal for outdoor dining and comes with access to a herb garden, which means you can add a fresh taste to your cooking.

Rapidly embracing the fine cuisine and cafe culture, you’ll find many places to sit and enjoy the harbour views while relaxing at a slower pace of life. As Brixham is a fishing port many of the town's restaurants specialise in fresh fish and you can regularly find the 'catch of the day' being served.

Stonewater Barn

Stonewater Barn exceeded our expectations superb in every way. Bedroom and linen beautiful, our hosts Pat and Ian are excellent and made us feel at home straight away. Also we had use of the garden to enjoy. It is a little "Oasis" Loved the balcony area so peaceful. We will be back!

Lovely barn...

A lovely barn & truly amazing gardens, so peaceful with only the wonderful birds singing to break the silence, loved it! A perfect break. Pat & Ian very friendly hosts and gave us lots of information. Recommend Rockfish restaurant which was so good we went twice! Also had a nice time at Greenway house & gardens but our personal favourite was Paignton Zoo. We are fully recharged & will definitely recommend Stonewater Barn to friends and family. Finally the lemon cake and the flowers were a lovely touch.

Stonewater Barn

We only had time for a short break but it has been lovely (and we've had glorious weather). The barn is beautiful and we couldn't believe how peaceful it is. This was our first visit to Brixham and it reminded us of Padstow 'before Rick'. We ate good fish at 'Simply Fish' and had excellent tapas at 'The Lytehouse' (accompanied by wonderful acoustic guitar music). We hope to return.

We have thoroughly enjoyed our week in this beautiful barn

We have thoroughly enjoyed our week in this beautiful barn, surrounded by delightful gardens. Some days high energy coastal walks, some days low energy, just relaxing in the sunshine. Dartmouth and Totnes are charming. Blackpool Sands is a lovely beach. Thank you to Pat and Ian for the lovely cake and all your hints and tips. My favourite sculpture in your amazing garden are the legs! Taking away a lot of inspiration. Our very best wishes and thanks.

Stonewater Barn

Second in and we second the sentiment. Good bed, great shower and breakfast on the balcony each morning. If you like gardens you should definitely visit 'Coleton Fishacre'. We recommend 'The Sea Trout' in Staverton for good food followed by the river walk. Unfortunately, we didn't see a kingfisher but you might be lucky. Lovely relaxing holiday.

Stonewater Barn

Thank you for such a lovely and unique place to stay. We have had such a relaxing time escaping here from London. The beautiful coastal walk was one of our highlights along with a day trip to Dartmouth. We have truly enjoyed our stay here and would recommend it to anyone looking for some peace and tranquillity.

Had a lovely, relaxing week here in this beautiful barn

Had a lovely, relaxing week here in this beautiful barn. The gardens are an inspiration and joy to look at. We have been out every day and not had to use the car once, instead have made good use of the buses, boats and walking. This made for a truly relaxing stay. Can highly recommend Beamers in Brixham and The Angel on the quayside in Dartmouth for good food. It is worth the walk up to The Berry Head Hotel for a drink on their terrace, giving a full view of Torbay. Had a good stay. Thank you!

Stonewater Barn

As this was our first time, we walked into the house speechless as we had not expected this. Bright, modern and a lot of wonderful details that were gradually discovered. Congratulations to the architect. The terrace, with the view of the artistically designed garden was also extensively used, benefiting from the reception of Wi-Fi. Many thanks to Pat and Ian for the short (too short) 7 days we were allowed to be your guests. This will not be the last time we visit Brixham.

Stonewater Barn

Despite the worst weather in 20 years, we have had a wonderful stay here. The surroundings are beautiful and secluded which was just what we needed after a hectic Christmas and New Year before returning to work! Brixham was of course a little quiet this time of year and the storms have not helped but the surrounding towns of Totnes, Dartmouth and the south coast have been a joy to visit, as well as Dartmoor and the many pubs and coffee shops that have been our shelter on numerous occasions! The barn is a lovely and peaceful place to stay with everything you could need, including the delicious lemon drizzle cake homemade by Pat and Ian. We will be recommending the barn to friends and family. Thank you.

Wow, totally unique property and gardens, the pictures do not do it justice.

We booked this holiday very last minute (only the week before), we weren't sure what to expect. Wow, totally unique property and gardens, the pictures do not do it justice. Perfect property for what we needed, tranquil and peaceful. Pat and Ian were very welcoming. We have been on some lovely walks: Berryhead - costal path from St. Marys Mansands and St. marys Bay - both hard to find and quite strenuous but worth it. Dartmouth - bus and ferry again a must see, river cruise, castle walk and Noval College. Thank you

Stonewater Barn

It has been a real joy to spend our holiday in this wonderful property and its beautiful setting. We've loved sitting on the balcony overlooking the garden and listening to St. Mary's bells. The location is fantastic, with so much to do and see locally. This accommodation is the best we've stayed in and all the extras were lovely, especially the lemon drizzle cake! Pat and Ian have been wonderful hosts, full of helpful advice and excellent recommendations. We have thoroughly enjoyed our stay and hope to come back.

Thank you for a lovely week in ‘The Barn’. Only one word can describe it, excellent.

Dear Ian and Pat, Thank you for a lovely week in ‘The Barn’. Only one word can describe it, excellent. We have thoroughly enjoyed the much changed Devon, particularly the gems ;- Greenway and Coleton fishacure, for all future visitors, both are a ‘must’ to visit. Locally in Brixham we enjoyed drinks on the Patio at The Berry Head Hotel and dining at BACO The Italian Restaurant in town. A day’s drive through south Devon, Modbury, Burgh Island and finally ending at Salcombe is well worthwhile, all new to us, a wonderful day. Dartmouth goes without saying us fab as well Forest of Dean. Many, Many Thanks Pete and Elaine

Thank you...

Just chilling out with a glass of wine and reflecting on our first stay at Stonewater Barn. The barn & the gardens are inspiring and we managed to take in so much of what the area has to offer, this week. Particular highlights were the beautiful ride up the Dart on the paddle steamer. Kingswear Castle and the steam train ride from Kingswear up to Paignton were other highlights. Dartmouth is beautiful, and Totnes is fascinating, a real food mecca. Thank you Pat & Ian for welcoming us to your beautiful home. You went the extra mile to make our week special, as you do for all your guests.
