Description

31 Overgang is a quaint fisherman's cottage situated just a minutes walk away from Brixham town centre and harbour.

The property has magnificent views over the inner harbour and marina from all of the rooms, which are all south facing.

The cottage dates back to the 1800s and is a traditional fisherman's cottage that is cosy, comfortable and full of character with low ceilings and narrow stairs.

The property has recently been carefully updated and modernised to enhance the traditional building and been redecorated in neutral décor with accent colours, the furnishings complement the cottages character. The accommodation is spread over 4 floors. There is a balcony accessed off the lower ground floor, offering spectacular views over the harbour.

Ideally situated so you can watch the activities around the inner harbour and marina as well as relax and dream away the days on the balcony and enjoy the atmosphere. A short leisurely walk and you are amongst the restaurants, local shops and attractions.

The coastal path is easily accessed from the property, leading to a selection of beaches and coves, as well as the ever popular seawater swimming pool at Shoalstone.

Those looking to entertain the family should head to Paignton, home to a fine selection of attractions including Paignton Zoo, the UK’s 3rd largest zoo; the Paignton to Dartmouth Steam Railway and Splashdown Quaywest waterpark.

Torquay is within a 9 mile drive and offers a variety of both independent shops and high street names, ideal for a spot of retail therapy. Torquay is also home to top attractions such as Living Coasts and the Babbacombe Model Village, as well as a good selection of facilities such as ten pin bowling.

31 Overgang

We stayed at 31 Overgang in June 2011 and found the property to be very well maintained, very clean with superb views of the harbour. Brixham is a lovely working fishing village with several pubs and restaurants, although we found the restaurants to be over-priced. For more variety, Paignton and Torquay are within easy reach with excellent bus and ferry services. In fact, we didn't use our car at all during our stay. The only real negative was the rather poor weather but that's a chance you take in the UK.
