2014 Holiday

We had a wonderful week in Brixham and we were extremely lucky with the weather. The accommodation was very good on the whole, however, the car space was very very small and awkward which we didn't find out until arranging the key pick up a couple of days before the start of the holiday. The key holder let us know and agreed with me that it should be made plain on the website so people can decide then whether it is suitable for them. We were fortunate to own a smaller car and though it was a nuisance and very tight we changed to this one so could just squeeze in. Had we not known we would have turned up in a Land Rover Discovery and would have not been able to park. However we thoroughly enjoyed the accommodation and it's position was great, very easy walking around town. Will hopefully return before too long.

1 Apters Hill House

We have just spent a week in this property and loved every moment. The house was so homely and close to the town, which is just what we need with two children. The property was very clean and we had a lovely welcome from Bob when we arrived and the shortbread was very welcome after our 4.30am start from Essex. We look forward to staying again soon

Ideal location

Apters Hill House is a lovely, comfortable, light, bright house, well furnished and decorated! It has parking for a small car and is located a minute's walk to Brixham's beautiful harbour, restaurants, shops and bus station! Whenever we stay in Brixham we never use the car as the bus service is so good you can go to Torquay, Dartmouth, Paignton and not have to worry about finding parking when you get anywhere! You can get a ferry also from the harbour most of the year to a lot of nice places. I would highly recommend this house and Brixham as a place to stay and visit.

Apters Hill House

We stayed over half term in Brixham with our 2 boys aged 12 and 10. A lovely property, just a couple of minutes walk from the harbour front. The house was splendid, close to every thing we wanted. In a word - "faultless". The owner Bob, was downstairs running his shop. A genuine and friendly chap who was on hand to help out if any problems. We'll definitely come back again.

our Brixham experience

1 Apters Hill House is ideally situated. Two minutes walk to the harbour, or equally close to the town centre. As a base for exploring the Torbay area it has excellent bus and road links. The house is comfortably equipped, with one or two minor criticisms. The allocated parking space is small, only suitable for a small hatchback eg. Fiesta size.no mention of this at time of booking. The cooker and washing machine could do with written operating instructions, as we had to use guesswork to avoid laundry and culinary disasters. A separate freezer would have been useful, and lighting in the outdoor space would have been appreciated. As I said minor criticisms, as overall the house was spacious, especially the bedrooms, clean and well presented and dog friendly.

Fantastic accommodation in great location.

The online description of 1 Apter Hill House was very accurate. Brixham is, in general, a very hilly seaside town, but this house is only about one minute walk from the harbour and the only hill involved is a steep incline of about five yards from the main road to the front door of the house. The mother-in-law, who has walking difficulties, did not find this a problem. Everything about this property was spot on and we were surprised to be told by the owner that the property would be undergoing a refurbishment once we had gone (nothing to do with us); it seemed perfect the way it was. The only slight problem thatay concern some people, was the parking area to the side of the property, which is only suitable for a small to medium sized car. There is a short stay car park directly across the road which is relatively cheap, or a couple of long stay ones that only charge £3 for 24 hours. These are a 10 minute walk away however. All-in-all, an excellent accommodation.

Apters Hill is highly Recommended!

My sister and I chose to stay at 1 Apters Hill over the past 10 days. We had read previous reviews, which were overall very good just with a few comments about Parking. We loved our holiday at Apters Hill, we holiday all over the Globe in 5+ star hotels and this house was sparkly clean, very well equipped, and even more importantly the beds are extremely comfortable and of high quality! The owner Bob, and his family have the little shop at the front of the property and couldn't be more helpful and lovely. Chester, the family dog is adorable! Regarding the comments about parking; it is a small drive space but didn't cause us any issues at all and I drive a 4X4 (Tiguan) so it really isn't an issue. The location is absolutely ideal, just a very short walk to the high street and to the harbour, plenty of shops and restaurants and all within walking distance. Thanks Bob, Chester and family, we will return to Apters Hill.

1 Apters Hill

Yet again, we had a wonderful time in Brixham. This was our first time staying in 1 Apters Hill and we found the house was perfect for our requirements. The property is clean, tidy and in excellent condition containing all the required facilities. The property is just two minutes walk from both the harbour and the town centre. Finally my thanks to the Property Manager who's friendly help and assistance was above and beyond
