The Sea Garden

A lovely house, beautifully decorated, tucked away in the Devon countryside. Peaceful and quiet with great views over the fields. We were lucky to have the best weather - wall-to-wall sunshine for the entire week, so we went to Bigbury-on-Sea every day - only a 5 minute drive away. Loved the hamper with home-made bread and marmalade and fresh farm eggs too. Definitely would go again.

Holiday at the 'Sea Garden'

The Sea Garden is a lovely place. The view from the decking is amazing and the garden is just the right size for young children. The property is tucked away up a quiet road, but within an easy drive of the beach. We enjoyed the peace and tranquillity of the place, rural but within a short driving distance of a local pub and good village shop. There is a farm shop within a five minute walking distance - lovely cream teas and a great view! We know the area well and felt that it was well located for visiting Modbury, Totnes and Salcombe. Our children and the dog enjoyed going to Bigbury beach and walking across the sand to visit Burgh Island. The weather was a really bonus!

A great location, near to the beach and a great base to explore South Devon. We have stayed at the 'Sea Garden' before and would be happy to return.

Great for:

Light, clean comfortable accommodation in a stunning location.

Lovely, refurbished bungalow in a stunning location. Very private with great views in relaxing surroundings. Convenient for walks and 3 pubs/restaurants nearby (easy to walk to if reasonably fit; between 1 and 2 miles distance. Bungalow interior was very light and spacious, well equipped with an excellent layout and high level of comfort. While the accommodation was very good it was slightly let down by a somewhat overgrown garden which, if tended would be stunning, as there are a lot of attractive shrubs and plants.

Great for:

A comfortable base for a great walking holiday with our dog.

The Sea Garden has everything needed for a self-catering holiday. Lots of games and DVDs supplied for evenings and wet days. It is fairly isolated on a narrow lane so not an easy in or out with our big car. We didn't use our car the week we were there and walked everyday. The Turtle farm shop is a few minutes walk away and the farmer Linda was very helpful. The beach is about a mile and a half away either via country lanes or footpaths. Similar distance to an excellent well stocked shop. Good food at the Oyster Shack, 30 minutes walk away, and the Journey's End Inn at Ringmore about 40 minutes walk away.

Great week at the Sea Garden

Lovely bungalow, very well equipped in a peaceful location. Feels like a family home with lost of books and DVDs. Very highly recommended. Stunning beach a mile away at Bigbury on Sea, and a great base for the South West coast path. The road leading down to the house is very narrow so might be best to leave very large cars at home!
