The Bay

Wow! Amazing views everything you would need. And its Valentine's day today. I really don't want to go home! We climbed up to Burgh Island and played ice-cream, shops in the tiny castle! Awesome.

A taste of the quiet life

This was a last minute booking for half term. We sought a place with enough comfort and space for 2 young children with enough to occupy them on our front door. We were not disappointed. The location offers great views overs the seas, set in a small village with 1 pub, 1 cafe, no shop and no phone reception - bliss A great place to get away from the rat race - recommended!

The Bay

We've just had a lovely time at The Bay in Bigbury on Sea. The apartment is beautifully decorated and has everything you could possibly need, including an amazing view over Challaborough beach. Would love to return.

2 The Bay

Everything was very good and just what we needed.... One thing we did request was for the twin beds to be made into a double. This wasn't done and was disappointing on arrival, as sleeping in a super king normally then going to a single isn't always good. However in this case it wasn't a problem as I did sleep ok..... We did leave our thanks for some nice touches they left for us mince pies, chocolates, bottle of fizz and a tree

The Bay

Having never visited this area before we were very impressed with both the property and the local area. We explored other places such as Plymouth and Salcombe but could just as easily stayed in the Bigbury area for the whole week. It was also rather nice in a strange way that we had no mobile signal, like going back 20 years and escaping the 21st century and its obsession with communication 24/7. We will definitely return to this area, maybe for good!!!

The Bay

Once again Blue Chip ticks the boxes! Five Star accommodation. Stunning position - especially when the wind whips up the waves. Plenty of surfing esp. at Challaborough Bay - if that's your pleasure - or superb walks if not. Friendly Beach Café (above B-o-S beach) for breakfast, lunch and dinner. But don't think you'll splash out on a meal at the Burgh Island Hotel: it's closed to non-residents. There is no longer a village shop; it closed in 2014. Excellent shop, though, at St. Ann's Chapel, about 4 miles before you get to B-o-S. Difficult to get a mobile signal - nearest we found was near the golf course, ca. 2-3 miles, but there is a coin-op box in the house. Blue Chip rarely fail to please; thoroughly recommended. P.S. Blue Chip. Please update info on 'village shop and post office'. Mis-leading info caused problems on eve of holiday when we had to pack provisions in a hurry instead of having them delivered.

The Bay

On arrival at any holiday destination first impressions last in the memory. On entering this property, one word - WOW ! Fantastic sea views and the sunsets are superb. 2 very clean beaches within 10 minute walking distance. Cannot recommend this property enough. Safe for children with plenty going on in the area. We WILL be back !

What a View!

We have stayed in Bigbury On Sea before and know the area very well. When we saw the location of this property we had some inkling of what the view would be like, however it far exceeded our expectations. We had uninterrupted views of Challaborough bay from both floors of the property, it was magnificent. The property itself is well appointed and clean and everything had been thought of for us from milk and biscuits for our arrival to a selection of books and DVDs in case the weather was not too good (fortunately we had brilliant weather all week). We will definitely be back.

The Bay

We had a good two weeks in this lovely apartment. Pity about the weather but some everywhere. We did have the hottest day of the year, so far! Managed 2 days on the balcony. Lovely looking out to sea. Son joined us part of the time and enjoyed walking in the area.

The Bay

We have all enjoyed our stay here a 2 The Bay. On Sunday morning, many people have said the know about the dolphins but never saw them, we saw them in the bay as we were on the balcony. The accommodation is amazing and the kids have loved playing all the wide variety of games. Also all the movies. The view are breath taking and we will hopefully come back again.

The Bay

A wonderful location visited several times, staying in different properties. Pity about the weather though we did manage an occasional good day and even the hottest day of the year so far! Staying in an apartment with views across the bays and a balcony to sit on in good weather is a highlight of the holiday. Hope to visit again.

Great apartment!

Spent 3 nights at "2 The Bay". Arrived to a fruit cake, milk and tea/coffee supplied - nice surprise. Lovely apartment, everything you could possibly need. Including good selection of books, DVD's and games. Very clean. Great internet!!! Fantastic view, perfect location. Beach great for surfing and kayaking. Surf school very friendly and helpful. Burgh Island was great fun for a bit of coasteering. The pub on the island only served baguettes at lunch time. Would recommend the chips from Friar Tucks in Challaborough. Nice walk down and up the other side away from the apartment - field of happy rabbits grazing! Can't wait to return for a little longer!

The Bay

Great apartment with fantastic view which thanks to the weather we were able to enjoy from the balcony! Visited Salcombe, Slapton and Kingsbridge but spent plenty of time on the beach with Rugb and football and enjoying the local coastal walks. Had lunch at the Royal Oak in Bigbury and would recommend!

The Bay

Have enjoyed the changing views from most of the windows and have been entertained by the hardy surfers most evenings. We found the climate to Journeys. End well worth the food when we got there. However, closer to home we had excellent foot at the Bay View Cafe at very good prices. Also enjoyed visiting Janice Walton's gallery, again just down the road.

The Bay

Lovely apartment, stunning view. Super loud at Oyster Shock and Beach Hut at Thurlestone Rock. Journeys end saves excellent food but check opening times. Lovely to walk there along coast path and turn right at sign (about 40 mins)
