Discover Devon’s quirky side and meet some of its friendliest animals at The BIG Sheep. One of the highlights of this family day out is the hilarious sheep racing, where visitors place their bets and watch as six sheep strive for glory, complete with miniature sheep riders (as you do). There’s even a special currency available called the Ewe Ro so you can place your bets in style.
The BIG Sheep also includes rides, trampolines and another favourite – the chance to bottle feed the new lambs between April and October. Aside from being a unique experience for children, lamb feeding is also a fantastic photo opportunity for mum and dad. Be warned though, some of the lambs can be greedy little things. The feeding sessions take place at 12.30 and 4.30pm.
The BIG Sheep is one of the South West’s most hands on attractions, and eager children can also have a go at driving a tractor truck for themselves, they’ll even be given a free certificate to show their friends how well they did. The BIG Sheep also hosts seasonal events, such as an Easter egg hunt, so check what’s on when you plan your visit. It’s best to visit between April and October as there are very few animals onsite during the winter months.
