There are three good reasons to visit Docton Mill, its flower gardens won a gold medal, it was voted the best cream tea in Devon and it was voted the best tea room in Devon. Those three awards have probably covered everything you need in a great day out, but just in case you’re still deciding we’ll tell you a little more.
Docton Mill Gardens are located in north Devon’s Hartland, and they’re open between March and October so that visitors can enjoy them at their best. The gardens were awarded a gold medal at the Devon County Show and make a relaxed attraction for those who enjoy exploring in their own time.
Don’t miss the river walk bordered by bluebells, wild garlic and narcissi, and enjoy the casual beauty of the wild flower gardens. North Devon attracts those who love being outdoors and close to nature, and Docton Mill is a lovely place to enjoy both.
There’s an area where visitors can buy plants too, so if you feel like taking a piece of Devon home to your own garden you’ll be able to choose from a wide selection. Dogs are welcome throughout the gardens but must remain on short leads, and the attraction is always kept as natural as possible for the feel of a wild garden. Don’t forget, Docton Mill Gardens were also voted Best Tea Room in North Devon in the North Devon Food and Drink Awards.
