There’s that restaurant in every resort that has views you could just sit and look at all day long, and in Appledore’s case that restaurant’s The Quay. Right beside the waterfront, the bistro has all the charm of a continental café and it looks right out across the Taw and Torridge estuaries.
With a loyal following of fans on TripAdvisor, the restaurant serves up fresh, local fish dishes and the tastes of the region with a friendly atmosphere that encourages your to take your time and enjoy the location. There’s even a gallery inside so diners can take some time to admire the creations of artists from the surrounding area across both floors of the building.
The menu’s as laidback as the rest of the restaurant so there’s plenty of choice for those of you who don’t fancy fish and it’s always worth checking out the chef’s specials as they change regularly and often include something that little bit different to sample.
All soups and pates are made from scratch, and wherever possible all produce is locally sourced. If you’re content just to sit back with a drink and take in the views across the water you’re more than welcome and the bistro’s a coffee shop too – see, they’ve thought of everything!
