Description

Richmond House is a grand property situated in the quaint village of Appledore, with decadent living areas and beautiful views across the estuary from a number of rooms.

The owners have retained many original features including pine floorboards and a slate fireplace alongside high quality furnishings to give your stay a touch of luxury. The open plan living and dining area is flooded with natural light from large sash windows where you can see glimpses of the estuary.

The split level courtyard area at the back is a perfect sun trap and the ideal spot to relax with a glass of wine after a day of exploring the local area.

Richmond House Appledore

We all had an excellent holiday the house was very clean and spacious the location was brilliant there was a bus stop right outside the house which we used, you could get a day rider for £3.20 which was excellent value. The key holder was very helpful and polite we would recommend this to family and friends.

Very elegant house, great for family celebrations

Richmond house is a wonderfully furnished, beautiful old house. Plenty of space for 6 adults. Furnishings and interior finishes are high quality and very elegant. We had some lovely quality time with our grown up children, the space is amazing, we all enjoyed lounging on the roomy sofas in front of the log burner. Keeping a house of this age and size must take lots of tlc and some parts are in need of attention, but nothing that would have spoilt our stay, overall we all had a great time. Appledore is a lovely village with good cafes and pubs and a good base for the larger North Devon resorts.

Relaxing break

A very nice comfortable property that easily took care of all the families needs. Large rooms and excellent bedding and towels etc. Well equipped kitchen and utilities. We had great weather so had all the beautiful sash windows open and the sea breeze coming into the bedroom in the morning while waking up to the boats sailing by was just wonderful. Nicky was very helpful upon arrival and made sure we understood all the workings of the house. we were 4 adults and 2 little ones and a good time was had by all. we managed to park outside the house and decided to make good use of the excellent bus service that was right outside the door and quite cheap when you consider par park fees when you're out and about. I would definitely like to visit here again. l would suggest a stair gate if small children visiting as three flights of stairs is a lot to keep chasing up and down when they want to go exploring!

Christmas in Appledore

It was with some trepidation that we booked our first family Christmas away but on arrival at Richmond House all our concerns vanished. We were greeted warmly by Nicola the local agent who explained everything we needed to know about the house and its foibles- it is very old and very beautiful. The house had been decorated for Christmas with a beautiful tree and she even brought us a turkey roasting tin. What service! We stocked up all our supplies from the Londis and Deli using the local beers, cheeses, fish and meat etc. All were of excellent quality and good value. Waking up in beautiful, comfy beds looking out over the estuary drinking my tea, eating in the breakfast room, exploring the narrow, colourful streets of the town and walking the endless beaches of Instow and Westward Ho - these are just some of the memories that made our holiday so memorable.

Excellent property in great location

We have stayed at Richmond House before and it's one of the best properties we've used. Spotlessly clean, excellent facilities and a lovely homely feel to it. Appledore itself is a small village, perfectly located for various other towns and a great bus service. We will be back for sure!

Richmond House, Period Delight

We stayed at Richmond House in a wet and blustery February week. From the moment we arrived we were very impressed by the property, Excellent WIFI, charming period features, cleanliness and a beautiful kitchen and plenty of space. Despite the seasonal weather, the house remained warm and inviting. Thoroughly enjoyable week with parents and children alike impressed by the house and its facilities.

An excellent family holiday.

We stayed for a week at Richmond House at Easter. The property was better than we could of imagined and in a great location. The furnishings of the rooms were lovely and a lot of thought and attention had been made. The views of the estuary were a delight to look out on each morning when you drew the curtains. The log burner in the lounge was great and with plenty of wood too. As a family we really enjoyed our stay and would recommend to friends and definitely return when next in Appledore.

A wonder holiday in Appledore, thanks to Blue Chip Holidays!

From start to finish, our holiday in Appledore at 7 Richmond House was well organised through Blue Chip Holidays. Excellent communication via timely email updates, and a call from our agent to finalise meeting arrangements/key collection. Upon arrival we were met by our helpful agent who showed us around, explained the facilities and even ensured we had milk, tea coffee and a most welcome bottle of red wine to begin our wonderful stay. The house is an amazing property, very tastefully decorated to a high standard (nearly all furnishings from either John Lewis or Laura Ashley) and in a great location...I wish we owned it! We all felt (including our rascally Fox Terrier dog, Hector) immediately 'at home' in the house and very conducive to a relaxing wonderful holiday. We will be back hopefully this year and would love to stay at the same property if it's available if not then, then at a future date. I would have no hesitation in recommending Blue Chip Holidays service or the properties they offer/manage.

A North Devon Gem May 2016

Appledore is the perfect spot to relax and unwind. It is excellently located for visiting North Devon. We have stayed at Richmond House Marine parade on 2 previous occasions but this was the first booking via Blue Chip holidays. they were extremely professional and communicative from the day we booked until checking our satisfaction upon return. We can highly recommend the property and Blue Chip.
