Description

Situated amongst the quaint streets of Appledore you will find Dorey, a traditional mid-terrace cottage perfect for your family getaway, with beautiful views over the Torridge estuary.

With an original Victorian tiled vestibule, a lantern ceiling and a fully glazed, opaque glass sliding door for the children’s room; you will find quirky features hidden around every corner.

When you open the French doors into the garden you are greeted with immediate views over the estuary and out to sea. The fantastic uninterrupted views will be appreciated by everyone who has the pleasure of staying at Dorey.

Appledore is a small fishing village, on the North Devon coast with a long history of sea-farers. Shipbuilding is still carried out today in Appledore Shipyards, a brilliant place to explore a bit of maritime history. The village, stretched along the river, is small with attractive walks along the quay and towards Bideford or Westward Ho!. Car parking is available in Pay Car Parks, although these get busy during the summer months.

Lovely Devon Holiday

We have just returned from staying in Dorey in Appledore for a week. It was our 1st time for both & we loved them! Appledore is a quiet but characterful village with great amenities & Dorey is a light, tidy & perfectly appointed cottage near the village centre. However, the fantastic views of the sea from the back of Dorey really set it apart. We are looking forward to going back as soon as possible. Thank you!

Dorey Cottage, Appledore

This is a lovely old fisherman's house set right alongside the sea with splendid views over the whole area. Parking is close by and includes a dedicated space just for Dorey. It is but a short walk to the lovely village of Appledore. Dorey had been carefully renovated and one of the three bedrooms has en-suite facilities. I would recommend this cottage.

An excellent holiday cottage

I love Appledore and particularly the cottages in Irsha Street with views over the estuary. Dorey has great views and is a very nice, comfortable and well equipped cottage. It is quiet, roomy and has everything you need for a very enjoyable break. I look forward to staying there again.

Delightful Dorey in Dog Friendly Appledore

We had a very relaxing week in our charming rental cottage Dorey. Appledore has everything needed for a restful holiday. Basic provisions and a delightful deli with dog friendly pubs serving good food. The cottage was ideally placed to take advantage of the beach and wonderful walks. We parked the car up and didn't use it again the entire week. The parking permit supplied by the owners of the cottage was extremely useful. The cottage itself was well positioned, clean and equipped with everything needed. We've stayed in dog friendly cottages previously that have smelt doggy, not Dorey. I pride myself that my own home does not smell doggy and I certainly don't want to spend a week in a house that does. When not walking we spent many happy hours on the sun trap patio watching the world go by, very relaxing. We shall definitely be using the services of Blue Chip Holidays again.

Fantastic Break

The cottage location couldn't be bettered, ideally situated for fabulous views of the Estuary. Appledore is just what we wanted, a quiet break, in a wonderful cottage. Plenty to see and visit, all within a short drive. A place we wouldn't mind visiting again
