Dawlish WarrenFor a relatively easy walk, the distance between Dawlish and Dawlish Warren is 3 miles one way – and if you don’t feel like returning on foot you can hop on a train back. This Dawlish walk begins along the sea wall, beside the railway line – so walkers can enjoy the sea views and fresh coastal air with the chance to wave at passengers on passing trains now and again. The walk is not too strenuous as the path is flat, and as it heads along the coast to Dawlish Warren the route is simple and more than suitable for first time walkers. Head out of Dawlish past the Red Rock Cafe and enjoy the spectacular views to your destination!

Dawlish to TorquayAlthough the distance between Torquay and Dawlish can seem relatively short, this walk is 16 miles so may be best spread over two days. The first part of the journey between Dawlish and Shaldon is not too challenging as it is mainly flat, although the ascent to Torquay from here is hilly. The walk can be broken down into sections such as Dawlish Station to Shaldon, Shaldon to Babbacombe and Babbacombe to Torquay Seafront. A bridge connects Teignmouth to Shaldon, although a ferry can also be taken.

Teignmouth and Dawlish WayTeignmouth and Dawlish are connected by an indirect walk of 14 miles, which can be taken on in a day’s hike or completed in sections. This walk was devised to mark the 21 celebration of Teignmouth and Dawlish Ramblers. Linked to the South West Coast Path, this walk begins at Teignmouth Pier and finishes at Dawlish Station. As it is indirect, this Teignmouth and Dawlish walk takes in some of the stunning rural scenery in the area, including sleepy neighbouring villages, the South Devon coastline and nearby countryside. This walk is unsuitable for completion in one day by inexperienced walkers, as areas are challenging and it is lengthy.
