The Dartmoor holiday is a fantastic opportunity to spend time together as a family, and there are many attractions in the area aside from exploring the park itself. The annual fair from the famous song ‘Widecombe Fair’ is still held each September at Widecombe in the Moor and is a delight for all the family. Pennywell Farm at Buckfastleigh includes the opportunity to get up close to the animals, feed the babies and enjoy regular displays and activities.
The South Devon Railway is a 7 mile steam railway and operates between Totnes and Buckfastleigh. For a more unusual experience, why not take a Dartmoor Llama Walk from Newton Abbot, the walks run all year round and include a picnic.
