Dartmoor ZooDartmoor Zoological Park sprawls over 33 acres of scenic woodland, and is a unique opportunity to get up close to wildlife in the truly natural surroundings of Dartmoor. The residents of this Dartmoor family attraction include tigers, lions, jaguar, cheetah, bears and many more. The park’s management have taken lengths to avoid any impact on the nearby areas during its expansion, and the views of its surroundings are not to be missed. Picnics are welcome, and there are regular daily events including feeding talks, animal encounters and quiz trails to make the day extra special for smaller visitors! Dartmoor Zoological Park is open all year round, except for Christmas Day.

Canonteign FallsTucked in the heart of Dartmoor, England’s highest waterfall streams over ancient rocks into peaceful lakes at their foot, and is one of the county’s most spectacular hidden treasures. At 220ft high, Canonteign Falls is a fantastic family day out and an impressive sight! With three picturesque walks to choose from, a wealth of wildlife and a peaceful atmosphere, Canonteign Falls is a true haven. Buckland AbbeyBuckland Abbey, near Yelverton, was once home to Devon’s renowned explorer, Sir Francis Drake, and is the perfect Dartmoor family attraction for those with an interest in Devon’s enthralling past. Buckland Abbey’s history stretches back 700 years, from its days as a monastery before conversion to a Tudor family home. Discover the former base of the county’s famous adventurer, and stroll through the past as you view Drake’s Chamber, the medieval Great Barn and beautiful Elizabethan Gardens. Drake’s adventures are brought to life with fascinating displays, and a selection of surrounding walks through the Tavy Valley make this a great Dartmoor family attraction!

Becky Falls Woodland ParkNestled in a breathtaking valley, Becky Falls are a leading Dartmoor landmark and have been voted Devon’s top beauty spot. Centred around natural woodland and the amazing Becky Falls, this woodland park is a fun-filled day out for the whole family. With walks for all levels, regular children’s trails and activities, and events throughout the year – Becky Falls Woodland Park is a great starting point for discovering the spirit of Dartmoor and all its charms. The Park is open between February and October. Access for disabled visitors is limited, as the attraction is built around woodland.
