The Tytherleigh Arms is as pretty from the outside as it is welcoming and it’s one of Aminster’s best-loved places to dine out. The former coaching inn dates back to the 16th century, so it has a cosy atmosphere and more character than you can shake a stick at – and dogs are welcome in the bar area.
Choose between the informal bar area of the dining room if you want to enjoy a meal during your visit, and if the sun’s shining there’s plenty of room outside on the patio for those who just can’t drag themselves away from the fresh air. The menu changes regularly and offers seasonal meals created using fresh ingredients from the surrounding area, and vegetarians are always pleasantly surprised to see a selection of meat-free dishes to make things easier for them.
Children are welcome for lunchtimes and highchairs are provided (although please note that those under five aren’t permitted inside of an evening) and if you take your dog along he’ll be welcome to lie down and enjoy a nap under your table while you dine in the bar. The Tytherleigh Arms is always at the top of the TripAdvisor poll on places to eat out in the area so bear it in mind if you’re planning on dining out during a stay nearby.
