You'd be hard pressed to find a more perfect beach than Whitsand Bay in South East Cornwall, as this unspoilt stretch of sand rolls on for three miles. It can be a little tricky to access the beach as the slope down to it is steep, but if you're feeling energetic and you don't mind a bit of an adventure you'll be rewarded with striking views and a peaceful beauty spot. in fact, few could resist this unspoilt length of sand at any time of year, let alone during the summer when surfers dot the waves and the surrounding scenery comes into its own.
There's lifeguard cover during high season, and The South West Coast Path follows the bay, so it’s a lovely point to visit during a walk if you’re not one for sitting on the beach. It’s worth noting that there are no toilet facilities on Whitsand Beach and there can be a risk of being cut off by the tide in certain places so check the tide times before you go.
