Port Eliot House and Gardens

Port Eliot House and Gardens

Things To Do

You’ll find Port Eliot House and Gardens quietly tucked in the Saltash countryside, and if you’re lucky enough to be in the area between March and June you’ll be able to wander this Grade 1 listed house. Still home to Lord and Lady St Germans, this rather beautiful country house is full of ancient treasures that make it the kind of place you could explore for hours.

If you’re keen not to miss a thing, there are guided tours of the house available included in the entry price. And, if you fancy peering behind the scenes of the house, tours of its kitchen, basement and even the candlelit wine cellars are available on a Monday or a Thursday during its open season. The basement’s fascinating, and you’ll be able to see some of the house’s oldest sections – including walls that date all the way back to the 9th century and the monastery windows that date back to the 12th century.

If you were hoping to explore the gardens with your dog (and we have to admit they look like the perfect spot for a dog walk with a difference), you’ll be welcome to bring your pet into the grounds with a garden ticket.
