Description

A collection of eco-friendly houses constructed using the latest state of the art techniques and are clad in the original old stone from the 400 year old Fish Cellars.

These waterfront houses are just a stone's throw away from the beach and have been finished to a very high standard benefiting from a balcony with fabulous views out to sea, underfloor heating throughout and allocated parking. Situated in Portwinkle, the popular seaside resort of Looe is within a 20 minute drive.

Portwrinkle is a small village on the South East coast of Cornwall with a fine view along Whitsand Bay and a history which stretches back to medieval times. Portwrinkle has two sand and shingle beaches one of which is Finnygook Beach and is popular with experienced surfers, plus there are plenty of rock pools for the kids to explore.

The South West Coast Path is just 50 metres away and is perfect for enjoying a leisurely walk, whilst taking in the spectacular views of the coastline. The dramatic views can be enjoyed from the nearby golf course which offers a combination challenging and straight forward holes to suit all levels of ability.

Nearby is the award winning Bay Restaurant, a superb eatery that uses only locally sourced produce. For a traditional pub lunch, the newly refurbished Finnygook Inn is worth a visit and is within a 10 minute walk, as is the Crafthole Community Shop which offers newspapers, milk, lovely homemade cakes and essentials. For an extra special treat on arrival they can deliver a welcome basket to the Fish Cellars (please arrange in advance by calling the shop on 01503 230361).

The Finnygook Inn is one of those Cornwall inns that are packed with history, character and legends that just might be true. The inn has stood since the 15 th century and as it’s right beside the South West Coast...
Looe music Festival isn’t quite like any other…you don’t have to camp, you can dine on fresh seafood from the local waters during the day, and you’re free to drop in and out as you please. The pretty little fishing...

Great break at 3 The Fish Cellars

Accommodation and location were both excellent, however when we arrived it was pitch black (the stars were amazing) which made it difficult to locate the property (take a torch!). Fortunately our son had driven down earlier in the day and had contacted us to give us the land line number and to warn us that our mobile phones may not work (he was right, no signal). We found a phone box and managed to contact him. It turned out that we were just a few yards past the gates for the underground car park! Driving slowly down into the spacious car park was fine but coming out the next day was more difficult, we found that it was best to line up the car with the slope before opening the garage doors and then to drive straight out. Our car is quite big (Citroen C8) and a bigger 4x4 had got in fine. The accommodation was very comfortable with great views over the sea from the balcony. The kitchen was modern, fully equipped and very clean, bedrooms & beds were comfortable and showers very powerful. An ideal location from which to explore southern Cornwall. We visited Boscastle, Tintagel, Port Isaac, Looe, Polperro and Fowey; remember to have plenty of change for the car parks as they are all 24 hour and disabled spaces are not free. Some car parks can be paid by phone.

Lovely spot for walking

We really enjoyed our time at 3 Fishcellars. The location was lovely, the kitchen well stocked and locals very welcoming! Useful to know in advance there is no phone signal though there is at the top of the hill. Also slightly more detailed instructions on arriving to say that we needed to get out of the car to get our keys from the side door (would have been a bit more difficult in the dark!). People were very friendly, the village shop had everything we needed and the Finnygook Inn food and pub gave us an incentive to make the steep climb up the hill! Lovely and we will be back!

Great holiday experience

Ease of booking, key collection and attention to detail with regards to overall service was second to none. We had a problem with a locking window and we heard from the property manager within minutes and fixed within 24 hours. House was beautiful and well stocked with everything you could possibly need. Definitely would recommend as is also dog friendly which so many other places are not. Thank you for a lovely break away!

3 Fish Cellars

Thank you we had a great New Year. We loved the Blue Peter Inn in Polperro. Area very flooded due to high tides and storm surges but the Fish Cellars are well protected.
