Description

A collection of eco-friendly houses constructed using the latest state of the art techniques and are clad in the original old stone from the 400 year old Fish Cellars.

These waterfront houses are just a stone's throw away from the beach and have been finished to a very high standard benefiting from a balcony with fabulous views out to sea, under floor heating throughout and allocated parking. Situated in Portwinkle, the popular seaside resort of Looe is within a 20 minute drive.

Portwrinkle is a small village on the south east coast of Cornwall with a fine view along Whitsand Bay and a history which stretches back to medieval times. Portwrinkle has two sand and shingle beaches one of which is Finnygook Beach and is popular with experienced surfers plus there are plenty of rock pools for the kids to explore.

The South West Coast Path is just 50 metres away and is perfect for enjoying leisurely walk taking in the spectacular views of the coastline. The dramatic views can be enjoyed from the nearby golf course which offers a combination challenging and straight forward holes to suit all levels of ability.

Nearby is the award winning Bay Restaurant, a superb eatery that uses only locally sourced produce. For a traditional pub lunch, the newly refurbished Finnygook Inn is worth a visit and is within a 10 minute walk, as is the Crafthole Community shop which offers newspapers, milk, lovely homemade cakes and essentials. For an extra special treat on arrival they can deliver a welcome basket to the Fish Cellars (please arrange in advance by calling the shop on 01503 230361).

Lovely Break As Always

Our 4th trip to Fishcellars and we cannot wait to go back for a 5th time. Lovely property in a perfect location. Food at the local golf course and at the Finnygook was excellent and would highly recommend a trip to the Cornish Orchards cider farm near by.

Had an absolutely amazing time in portwrinkle! The house was amazing as well as the beach and balcony! Wifi was a bit slow and stopped working on the last night but otherwise fantastic and would love to stay again.

You know when you look in a brochure or on line and then you enter the holiday property and it's not quite as you had hoped, well this is! We were pleasantly surprised at FishCellars. We have a large 4wd with a top box and no. 4s parking is tricky; so we unloaded inside then reparked the car seconds along the road. All safe and fine and no hassle. 4 Fish Cellars was very warm as we went at the mild Christmas 2015. The property is beautifully light and airy. Beds very comfortable. Connie who looked after us was brilliantly helpful and a font of local knowledge. Dave the maintenance chap was always around for queries! Portwrinkle is isolated, no shop. The FinnyGook pub a 15/20 minute walk to the top and delicious food. The Jolly Roger shack did a good breakfast and afternoon tea. Beaches varied from grey shingle to sand. Wild and windy and rocky. I don't want to thoroughly recommend as I want to keep it for us! Port wrinkle is a great place.

What a wonderful break! Loved the house and perfect views and fantastic to be so close to the beach. The kids loved playing in the rock pads and catching a crab! Looe, Fowey, and Polperro all lovely for a trip at!

House lovely and better than we expected

Super place for Christmas, rough seas and fabulous walks. Local residents warm & welcoming. House lovely and better than we expected. Connie and crew exceptionally helpful. We parked our large 4 wheel drive a few metres away which was fine. We hope to come again and again.

Portwrinkle get away

Beautiful, quiet corner of Cornwall. Beachside, fell asleep and woke to the sound of the sea. So relaxing. The house had everything we needed for a totally enjoyable holiday. Great food at the nearby Finnygook Inn. Tried the Whitsand Bay hotel, ok, not quite as good. Rocky beach with sand, lovely for dog walk. Slight critisism over car park. In basement with difficult approach to car parking space. When full, needed a bit of manoeuvring to park. Came home feeling we had escaped from the hustle and bustle. A def 9/10!!

Get away from it all here. Close to sea as you can be. Property has surprising features, comfortable beds and is well presented.

4 Fish Cellars

Excellent property with great views and perfect location for a family beach holiday. Our son loved the bunk beds, table football, watching DVDs in the Den and of course the beach. Good local food and looking forward to our 3rd visit to the property as soon as possible.

Fish Cellars, Portwinkle

Second stay at these properties, fantastic and very well serviced. Great to find a luxury property like this which allows dogs. Portwinkle small, but to have golf, hotel and gastro pub on doorstep is great. View from balcony stunning.

Relaxing family beach holiday

Fabulous family holiday in this idyllic cornish location overlooking the sea. The property was perfectly clean, with all necessary amenities/facilities and spread out over 3 floors enabling the kids to wind down watching dvd's on one floor, leaving the adults to relax, cook, chat and enjoy the views from the balcony on the top floor. There were a mixture of dog friendly and dog free beaches in close walking distance, together with the coastal paths which stretched out in both directions taking you to the neighbouring villages. The property was in walking distance of a pub, cafe and hotel all serving great food and the locals were all very friendly. The wifi was excellent, though the mobile phone signal was non existent, but there was a landline to use in emergencies. The only minor drawback was the underground parking which was a little tricky, but we had a large car and still found it ok, at least the parking was secure and right outside the property basement door. I hope to return to this beautifully converted fish cellar in this quaint and quiet village.

A gorgeous cottage with well equipped kitchen. It is definitely worth a wonder around Looe and Anthony House. Super places to visit - I recommend the Finnygook Inn. A wonderful week.

4 Fish Cellars

3rd stay at Fish Cellars and already looking forward to the 4th. Perfect location, and (dare I say it) a little too hot this week which made relaxing in the den & on the balcony perfect. Thank you.
