Description

Waters Edge is literally that; a fantastic family holiday home situated directly on the beach just a stones throw away from the waters edge! Step out of your front door onto the beach and enjoy the convenience of this beach front location.

Portreath is a small village nestled between the cliffs on the North coast of Cornwall with a small harbour, long sandy beach and waves made for surfing and body boarding. The village itself is small and friendly with several shops, cafes and pubs. There is a nearby 'watering hole' in the middle of the beach and just a few yards from the property.

Within a short drive of Portreath you will find other activities including swimming pools, squash, badminton, outdoor bowls, horse riding and a choice of 6 golf courses. The National Trust coast path is also close by and provides some breathtaking scenery along the spectacular cliffs of North Cornwall. Inland there are wooded and parkland walks where wild flowers and many species of birds are a twitchers delight.

This twelve mile stretch was named after the patron saint of high places, and given some of the cross country terrain it covers that’s pretty fitting. St Michael’s Way runs for twelve miles between St Ives, Lelant, Penzance and Marazion...

Waters Edge, Portreath

An excellent 5 day break in a lovely house .Very pleasant and friendly owners, and a delicious cream tea in the fridge. No O2 mobile reception in the village, but the owners have reception with Orange. BT hotspot worked well. The house had a patio opening on to the beach, and you could hear the waves lapping when you went to sleep. Very relaxing. We would love to go back.

Waters Edge

Safely in, lovely for the children to be able to change and go straight to the beach (smiley face) after a long journey. Just leaving now leaving mum and dad to unpack, you will be happy to know that David loves his black room and Bethany has declared this her "nicest holiday house in Cornwall ever " Had a great week and want to return.

Waters Edge

We had a great holiday at Waters Edge, the weather could have been a bit kinder! House was very clean and tidy and everything was there that we needed. We loved the location right on the beach and to have a pub right on the doorstep was even better. The owners were very helpful and were there when we had a small problem, not the owners fault. I would love to come back sometime.

Waters Edge

On arrival at Waters Edge we found the house to be spotlessly clean and very homely. Having 3 children with us who were under 31/2 years old, it was great to have a feeling of home from home. The location of the property was amazing. We spent 4 glorious days enjoying the beach and were so lucky having wonderful weather. The little added extras both inside the house (even matches in the draw which came in useful when lighting the disposable BBQ ) and all the beach equipment were very much appreciated.Portreath is a lovely village and has a very welcoming feel. The bakery and the Chinese takeaway were excellent. We have nothing to say but good comments on the property, location and support from Blue Chip and the owners throughout. We hope to go back next year. Thank you.

Waters Edge

We had a lovely holiday, Waters Edge very warm and comfortable. Location is great, especially for Junior/Senior children. Beach on the doorstep. Tesco delivery was ideal for holiday groceries.

Waters Edge

Such fun! Lovely cottage, well equipped and thanks for the Christmas decorations - it all looked lovely when we arrived, with the table set for Xmas lunch with crackers and the tree and lights. We did do the boxing day swim (well, kind of) but it was mild. We love the location - we are often in Cornwall and this is probably the best for us so far. Loved all the supplies in the kitchen - made cooking for our family & visitors (brunch for 11 on Boxing day) very easy. Comfy beds and very cosy. Found getting channels on the TV challenging. Thanks.

Waters Edge

After a long drive we are all very happy to be welcomed by such a nice and cozy house. We were surprised how spacious the house is and how well it's been looked after. Unfortunately we chose the worst weekend for weather with hail storms, heavy rainfall, gale force winds of up to 80mph, stormy seas and flood warnings all along the coastline but luckily Waters Edge has a well equipped kitchen that has everything you need to cook up some hearty meals to keep warm! Having the beach on our doorstep was fantastic and we even enjoyed dinner out under the stars on the porch one windy evening with the sounds of the crashing waves in the background. The house is very comfortably furnished and made us feel "at home.

Waters Edge

Very nice location - all amenities close (pubs, chip shop). Would recommend Waters Edge. The bedroom very adequate - kitchen well stocked and rooms tidy and spacious. All in all a very pleasurable experience - sad to leave. PS - if reserving a table for a meal at the Basset Arms, make sure that you ask someone responsible. We reserved a table for Friday evening and found that no reservation was made.

Waters Edge

We have had a great week and really enjoyed our stay at Waters Edge. Great to be so close to the sea. Would recommend the food at the Waterfront Inn, enjoyed a lovely sunday roast. We took advise and used the park and ride (train) from Lelant Saltings to St Ives which is really busy. It has been really relaxiing staying here, shame we have to go home.

Thank you for the cream tea welcome!! Most appreciated by all! We have had a lovely two weeks, weather most kind. Family live in Illogan so we were on hand to celebrate a christening and 60th birthday. The house is very much home from home!! Thank you again. The Holloway Family, Derbyshire.

Waters Edge

Very homely accommodation - shower is very good. Bedrooms are all very comfortable. Would recommend walk to Porthtowan. It took about 2 hours, and we saw and heard some seals. Porthtowan itself has lovely long beaches. Only fault it was unfortunate that the neighbour was undertaking a lot of noisy work - it meant sitting outside was not an option. Kitchen is very well stocked for any cooking eventuality.

Waters Edge

A lovely house - what a good time we've had. Weather has been kind, we've had lovely walks, relaxing beach times, surfy sea & travels to ancient sites (Lanyon Quoite, Madron Well) so have had a lot of different things to do. Cliff walks towards Gwythian really spectacular and quite scary! Thank you from us all.

Waters Edge

We really loved the house! The view was great and it was very nice that we could hear the sound of the sea in the bedrooms. The waves, here in Portreath, are gigantic! The weather has been very good, so it was the perfect time to go surfing. We also walked to Porthtowan. The views we had on the coast path were amazing. We will miss it here. Thank you! (And the scones were delicious)! Family Tilkin Peeters, Belgium.

Waters Edge

A very comfortable and well appointed cottage in a good position. Tesco is a great supermarket. Took us a while to get things working but after that it has been really good. Children must love it here - you have set up so well for them. Wish we were younger and could manage the walks. Loved Port Isaac and nearly blew away at Land's End. All in all a good week. Waters Edge

We have had a lovely time together as a family, at "Water's Edge". The location is ideal and we have enjoyed being able to walk out onto the beach every day and live close to the sea for 6 days. Portreath is such a pleasant spot - the coastline is beautiful around here and the surrounding area is peaceful. Water's Edge has been perfect for us and we have appreciated all the little extras and home comforts. It has been a free and easy and comfortable break for us. Thanks for the "Welcome
