Inglenook Cottage

Beautiful little cottage with lovely period features. Excellent location for a pleasant walk into Polperro or short drive to Looe or Fowey.

Perfect in every way!

We arrived on 3rd Sept in heavy rain but as soon as we entered the cottage it was everything the website had said! Beautifully designed, comfortable, cosy and homely! It had everything you needed and was a pleasure to be staying there! The dog settled in immediately as did we and we started our week of investigating Polperro and the surrounding areas. Friendly local at the Crumplehorn Inn, delicious seafood at local restaurants, especially the House on the Props, where they also made their own walnut bread and desserts - you must have the meringue with whatever flavours you desire and which stands approx. 6" tall but it didn't beat me :). The fish dishes here are amazing and if you were ever craving a curry, the home made Cod loin in a Sri Lankan curry sauce was full of fresh ingredients, as were all of the dishes there. The Blue Peter Inn had a fabulous atmosphere, as did the 3 Pilchards. Seaton Beach was perfect for the dog and we started most of our days there and ventured into Looe, Downderry, Mevagissey and Fowey from there. Surprising how close everything is! Overall as beautiful as other areas were, I am going to rebook to stay in Polperro as you have the evenings to wander around the little streets and sample the food in all of the local restaurants. Fabulous time, thank you Helen for such quality accommodation.

Inglenook Cottage - Polperro

A delightful cottage albeit rather Bijou, however it was in a very good location allowing us to walk into the village and sample the lovely shops, cafes and local pubs/restaurants that Polperro had to offer.

Autumn break

On arrival we found the cottage easily from the directions supplied. It looked exactly as the pictures had shown and was immaculately clean. The kitchen was very well equipped and the bedrooms were lovely. The cottage was cosy and warm, we even lit the fire, although we had to supply the wood ourselves. The only thing I would suggest purely as a comment and definitely not a criticism is that they could have more comfy settees, the ones in the cottage are fine for sitting on but if you want to totally chill out around the cottage they are not big enough or comfy enough. Having said that we could not fault the whole experience and would definitely book again.

Inglenook Cottage Polperro.

We spent Easter 2015 at Inglenook Cottage in Polperro, my wife and I had a splendid time on our holiday. The cottage we found to be very nice indeed, clean / tidy and around 100m from a very welcoming dog friendly pub. The seafront was a very pleasurable ten minute walk from the cottage into the village of Polperro itself where there are many craft and gift shops, continue on and you will arrive at the harbour front. The parking spot that comes with the property is invaluable as the cottages location is at the start of the no 'cars in Polperro rule' and saved money on what would mount up to be an expensive car park when parked in it for a week. A few days out of our week we travelled further a field to other areas of Cornwall, Polperro proved to be a nice central location to be based in order to travel on to other areas, and a nice place to return to at the end of a day of sightseeing. On the whole a very enjoyable week was spent in Polperro and the cottage was all that we could have wished for, warm, well equipped modernised kitchen and bathrooms and an absolute must these days (and very handy when researching day trips etc) Wi-Fi! I would certainly recommend Blue Chip Holidays, the booking process was very straight forward and the enquiry I made regarding my dog being welcome, was answered very quickly over the phone.

A cosy cottage in a beautiful location

Booking ref 283083 Quality 4 Facilities 4 Location 5 Cleanliness 3 Key Collection 5 We stayed here with 2 younger children and were very happy with the accommodation. The cottage is presented beautifully and is warm and cosy. The location of the cottage is fantastic as you can amble into Polperro easily but the location also means that you have easy access to your car!! (Rare when staying in Polperro!) All of the facilities in the cottage were excellent and it was handy to have a washer/dryer. Nice quiet location too. We loved staying at inglenook and would love to return. Generally the cottage was beautifully clean however one slight niggle were the brown stains on the towels and the hairs on the bed linen. Could've been pet hairs? Luckily brought own towels. Also the under sheet on the bed in the main bedroom does not fit at all which is a bit annoying. We wouldn't let this stop us from returning though.

Lovely place to stay in Cornwall

The cottage is lovely and has everything you might need. The welcome bottle of wine & milk was a nice touch. There is no mobile signal in Polperro and no telephone in the cottage which would be an advantage but the wifi was a god send with a 9 year old child. The cottage is very clean and decorated to a high spec. We loved our stay there and would love to go back again.

Excellent cottage in a very good location.

Nicely decorated cottage at the top of the road that leads down to Polperro Harbour. This cottage has its own parking space which is very convenient. Lots of properties don't have parking which means a long haul with a trolley to get suitcases from your car. The cottage has a well-appointed shower and bathroom and a clean modern kitchen. Free sat TV and hifi with iPod connection. Strangely dishwasher tablets are kindly supplied but no dishwasher! Welcome bottle of wine did help to dampen the shock of having to hand wash. Polperro is only 4 miles from the harbour town of Looe which is vibrant with lots of shops, nice beach and a good place for adults and kids to go crabbing. The speedboat trip around the bay was exciting and well worth it. The cottage is located right next to the bus stop that takes you to Looe 72/73 service. We used this to get back after walking the coastal path from Polperro. Overall a very nice holiday blessed with better weather than expected.

Great little cottage

Stayed at the inglenook cottage for a week, what a great little cottage with both bedrooms en suite, everything you could need in the kitchen, very comfy beds, WiFi, parking outside and a great pub across the road, we even had good weather couldn't ask for more.

Superb holiday experience

The holiday cottage was ideally situated in the centre of Polperro close to all the restaurants and shops. The cottage was small but well laid out clean and comfortable, it would suit either two couples or a family with one child as there are two double beds. Polperro it's self had lots of nice restaurants to choose from for all price brackets from fine dinning to pub grub. There were also lots of little shops selling everything from fudge and souvenirs to bags and purses. The cottage and Polperro are full of old world charm and character and most importantly the cottage has a parking space outside the cottage. I would have no hesitation in recommending Ingelnook cottage and the location of Polperro for a family holiday.
