You’ll find Harlyn Bay Beach four miles west of Padstow, and it’s one of the Cornish beaches that’s all the better for being slightly off the beaten track. The bay has a gentle crescent shape, so it’s one of Cornwall’s safest beaches and a favourite with families (and those still getting the hang of surfing). Harlyn Bay offers a wide expanse of sand dotted with rock pools, and as dogs are welcome on the beach throughout the year it’s another great beach for a walk with your pet.
The South West Coast Path connects this beach with Mother Ivey’s Bay (which is also dog friendly), so if you’ve been meaning to walk a little of the coast path you can use the beach as a starting point and explore the route with your dog. Better yet, if you walk on to Trevose Head you’ll be able to enjoy the spectacular views of Newquay so don’t forget your camera for this one.
Harlyn Bay’s rocky shoreline could only belong to a Cornwall beach, and the sand dunes and nearby pathways mean you could easily while away a whole day enjoying this bay during your dog friendly holiday in Cornwall. The beach rolls on for around half a mile, and there’s a large car park right beside it.
