They’re a laidback lot in Newquay, and things don’t come much more relaxed than gazing out to sea with a pint in the beachside Mermaid Inn. Found right on the beautiful Porth Beach, the inn welcomes children, dogs and even people with sandy shoes – and its beer garden makes such an idyllic spot to enjoy being by the sea that you won’t want to leave.
The Mermaid is a popular pub and restaurant with families, and if you fancy a bustling eatery with a laidback feel to it then it’s friendly, convenient and the TripAdvisor reviewers are always delighted with the food. If you’re planning on dropping in during the summer it’s a good idea to book in advance as the restaurant gets very busy, but with hefty portions at reasonable prices it’s easy to see why.
There’s a free car park right beside the restaurant, so they don’t come much handier for feeding the troops after a hard day on the sand than The Mermaid Inn. The outside seating means you can enjoy something cold while you watch the sun melt into the horizon, so this is a great option if you’re on Porth Beach during a Cornwall holiday.
