Newquay’s Blue Reef Aquarium couldn’t be in a better location, overlooking Towan Beach (the one with the island) and right at the foot of the town centre it makes an easy and fun attraction to visit during a day out in Cornwall. Journey through the world’s oceans as you wander more than 40 naturally themed habitats ranging from local waters to tropical seas.
You’ll find yourself right up close to turtles, reef sharks and jellyfish to name a few of the weird and wonderful creatures that may just amble past as you watch. Let’s face it, everybody loves the thrill of walking through an underwater tunnel, especially when there are sharks and colourful shoals of fish floating above their heads, and that’s exactly what you’ll find at the Blue Reef Aquarium. Will you be brave enough to stand still as a shark floats his way above you?
You’ll also be able to marvel at brightly coloured corals, giant octopuses and curious loggerhead turtles – so it’s no wonder the aquarium is one of Newquay’s most popular family attractions. There are feeding slots throughout each day, with the sharks feed and talk taking place at 4pm, the Tropical Ocean feed at 11am and the octopus feed and talk at 3pm.
