The Pink House

The Pink House is lovely with breath taking views down over the harbour, of course being so elevated means a certain level of fitness is required to walk up from Mevagissey. There are some great walks from the property and the town is full of lovely cafes, pubs and restaurants. Our week flew by, we wished we could have stayed longer.

Beautiful property lovely location

This property is lovely. Perfectly equipped and comfortable with gorgeous harbour and sea views. Rooms are well equipped and the showers are amazing with serious water pressure! The kitchen is a joy with loads of equipment and kit. The lounge area is a little small for such a big house and not enough seating if the house is full. The outside deck and barbeque area is gorgeous - pity it does not get the evening and afternoon sun but otherwise it is a beautiful space. Only negatives are that the beds need replacing as they are showing their age - very lumpy and uncomfortable. You should also be warned - the walk from the town back to the house is a steep uphill all the way to the house and you do need to be fit!

The Pink House Mevagissey

My husband and I spent a lovely week at the Pink House with my daughter, husband and two children, aged two and 9 months. The house has three levels, with two bedrooms on the top floor as you enter the house, three bedrooms on the floor below and the living room, kitchen and dining room on the ground floor. The house has fantastic views over Mevagissey from almost every room and the decking is lovely and very safe for children to play. The house has everything you would want from a holiday home, although you need to be quite fit as there are a lot of steps in the house which might be a problem for some people, but not for us, we loved it.Just Just to warn people who do not know Mevagissey, the road from Mevagissey to the house is a nightmare if you are driving, we did the seven mile detour every day via Port Mellon as my daughter has a large car and didn't want to negotiate the hill. We saw a lot of reversing of cars because the hill is not wide enough for two cars to pass. We walked up and down the hill into town most evenings, which is not a problem going down but is very steep coming back, especially with two prams, but it keeps you fit. There are many good places to eat in the town but the Fountain Inn stands out for me and is a lovely place to eat, the staff are really friendly and the food very good. Overall we had a fantastic holiday at the Pink House and would definitely book again.

Wonderful views

Our family of five including 3 mostly grown-up boys had a lovely week here. The house is spacious and every bedroom and the terrace/balconies has a view of Mevagissy that is just stunning. The payback for that is a narrow steep drive up from the town to get in and out. There is an alternative I believe, but it is a long way round and we didn't try it. The walk up and down to the village is not far, but also very steep and quite strenuous, not a problem for us, but something to bear in mind. Both the The Lost Gardens of Heligan and The Eden Project are nearby, then there is Fowey by boat, no driving required and local walks if you wish. St Austell has supermarkets, Tescos and Asda. Mevagissy itself has a variety of eating places and shops which we didn't fully explore when we had our shopping adverse young men with us! The house is well equipped, plenty of mugs, crockery and cooking utensils. It is tastefully decorated. The wi-fi was good ,an essential for us. So glad we booked it!
