When a resort’s a beautiful as Mevagissey you don’t need to walk far to see views that’ll take your breath away, and if you walk the coast path that surrounds it you’ll get a real feel for this working harbour town and how little it’s changed over time.
This is a walk that follows ancient lanes, passes bobbing boats waiting patiently in the harbour and sweeps along the cliff tops where you can see a rugged coastline with a rich history. Start the walk in Mevagissey and follow the narrow streets to the coast path, the best vantage point for those who want to take it all in and feel miles away from city life.
This walk can be steep in places and it’s quite up and down along the way, but that said there are plenty of friendly watering holes and places to stop and rest as you go. Take your time over this one and make sure you appreciate the views that surround you while you’re walking. This is one of Cornwall’s most captivating walking routes, and if you have time take a detour around the Lost Gardens of Heligan on the way back (you’ll pass them) as they’re a magical spot.
