Hemmick Beach

Hemmick Beach

Things To Do

Part of the fun of a Mevagissey holiday is all those little coves and beauty spots to explore in the surrounding area, and Hemmick Beach is a secluded sandy beach that’s backed by Dodman Point. This isn’t the easiest of beaches to reach (it’s around a 15 minute walk from the nearby National Trust car park and the narrow lanes that lead to it can be challenging at times) but if you don’t mind a bit of an adventure you’ll get the beach pretty much to yourself – and it is stunning.

It’s a nice beach to visit if you take your dog with you as he’ll be welcome on the whole beach no matter what the season, so if you’re a bit stuck for a stretch of shore to walk him on during summer bear this one in mind. There are always plenty of rock pools to keep the children entertained at low tide (although with a wide sandy beach they’ll be in their element anyway) and the beach’s position off the beaten track means it never gets too busy.
