The tiny village of Gorran Haven lies just a few miles outside of Mevagissey, and it makes a great starting point for a 5 mile Mevagissey walk. The walk is circular, starting from the National Trust car park, and passes the beautiful secluded Vault Beach along the way.
This section of coast path is wonderfully rugged, and the highlight is local landmark Dodman Point, with a cross-shaped day mark. You’ll walk a lengthy area of heathland from here before returning to the car park. Dodmon Point is a striking headland, once used as an Iron Age fort, and its large cross protects ships from the headland.
