Gorran Haven is a small, historic village found to the west of Mevagissey in Cornwall, and its two pretty beaches are well worth noting if you’re planning a beach holiday in the area. You’ll find the village tucked quietly in a valley that’s often missed by the crowds, and that’s what makes it so special.
Pretty fisherman’s cottages huddle protectively around a sleepy cove, and little has changed over the centuries. The beaches are two of Cornwall’s safest for swimming, so if you have small children they’re perfect. Dogs are welcome as long as they stay on their leads, and as the coves are part of the South West Coast Path they’re ideal to stop off at as part of a walk. The village’s main beach is easily accessible, and close to toilets, shops and a large car park.
So whether you drive along to this beach or make it the finishing point of a walk from Mevagissey you’ll have no trouble parking or refreshing yourself when you arrive. Vault Beach lies to the south of the village, close to Dodman Point, and boasts a mile of glimmering sand and unspoilt beauty.
