Fab Family Holiday Property

We struggled to find a really nice holiday home for our family of 8 in April this year, however Higher Close at Mawgan Porth was wonderful and fulfilled all our expectations. We initially wanted a long weekend and this is what we booked however due to a mix up we were informed in February this year that we would be unable to have the property as the owner wanted to only do week long lets at this time. We were very disappointed as this holiday had been planned for a long time and included the weekend of our Ruby wedding anniversary and we were afraid we wouldn't be able to find anything else as nice at such short notice. However Blue chip negotiated on our behalf and for a small extra amount we were able to have the property for the whole week. We spent the first four days with our son and his partner and then for the last three days our daughter, son in law and granddaughters all came to join us. We were delighted with the property itself, stylish, warm and comfortable. All four of the bedrooms were lovely with beautiful en-suite bathrooms. Violet 8 and Eden 4 were very excited and loved everything about the house and didn't want to leave. The living room had a wonderful home cinema with huge screen which was greatly appreciated by the young adults however we could only view this at night when it was dark and one thing we felt would have helped would have been a normal tv in the lounge and perhaps not needed one in each bedroom. The Aga in the kitchen made sure it was always toasty warm when we came in, and although a bit nervous of cooking on it everything turned out fine (after looking at the Aga cookbook, helpfully supplied). We had wonderful views from the back of the property with the lounge and every bedroom having patio doors onto either patio or balcony. The garden was attractive and had a gateway leading to easy access to the beach about a 10 minute walk away. This was a very special family holiday for us and it was made really special by having such a lovely property to stay in. We could easily have imagined ourselves living there and would love to go again. I have already recommended this property to two friends and their families.

Higher Close

Just spent four days with family at Higher Close. Gorgeous house with lovely views and great facilities. Owner was very gracious in helping us work the technology. Nice enclosed garden for our pre-schoolers to explore. Perfect, just what we were looking for.

Higher Close

This was a perfect holiday , we were a little dubious when we arrived as the front of the property doesn't reflect the interior, however on opening the door and stepping in the WOW factor hit us and stayed with us for the rest of the week. The property has been brilliantly designed with clearly a great deal of thought. Facilities were ideal and the view stunning ideal location for beaches and great days out.We had my elderly mother with us and she loved being able to stay at the house with the wonderful view and gardens to enjoy. The owner contacted us to check all was ok and we met her during the week - she was great and very relaxed. Will definitely book again - if only we could book the same weather as well for next year !!!

Higher Close

Higher close was the best cottage we have stayed in haven taken cottages for 18 years with another company. The situation was perfect, furniture and fittings were to the highest standard and there was plenty of seating inside should the weather be adverse. We had wonderful weather and enjoyed a very special time with our family in a superb cottage - we will definitely be booking with Blue Chip again.

Higher Close

We holidayed with our children and their young families. We felt the house was perfect for our 2 week stay - and we particularly enjoyed the open plan living area leading onto the decking and garden. The garden was just right for the children to have a run around before bedtime. The kitchen / dining room was well designed, easy to keep clean and the Aga kept the area warm and welcoming and was very easy to use. All the labour saving devices were easy to use and worked well for our stay. The bedroom and en suite facilities were excellent and afforded each couple their own space, something we look for in holiday accommodation. We enjoyed the walk down to the beach from the garden and were very fortunate with good Cornish sunny days and surf!

The only thing we didn´t like was leaving.

This is a fantastic holiday home in a great area. The kids loved the garden, the pool room, the stone bake pizza oven in the garden, the cinema screen, the piano and the Wii. We loved all of the above and the Aga, the bathrooms, the sound system, the sofas, the beds, and the view. The only thing we didn´t like was leaving.

We all had a fantastic time, from grandparents to babies. The property was excellent, we were very impressed with the high standards. As it was mentioned on the website, access to the beach was not that easy with toddlers and pushchairs - but we coped. The local amenities were excellent, country side and views were stunning.

Blue Chip and Higher Close Mawgan Porth

First of all Blue Chip Holidays. We as a family have been using Blue Chip for many years and have never been disappointed. We look on their site first and always find something so book rather than trying elsewhere. The whole process is very straight forward from booking to collecting the keys and after all these years we will continue to use them. Thank you. Higher Close. We usually visit Devon but this year picked Cornwall for a change. The photos and description do not do this holiday house justice. It is very large but still remained a house that a family can enjoy together. We are a three generation family group, 50s, 30s and a 4 year old and we all shared Olivers view that "I never want to go home again, ever!" Everything was on hand and the family rooms flowed through the house while still giving areas where you could escape for a bit of relax time. The property management were very helpful and information at the house also very good. Parking, we asked before about parking as the description states "parking for 2 cars" and we came with 3! But managed to get all the cars (2 BMW saloons and a SEAT hatch) parked easily, the trick is to reverse in. Mawgan Porth has everything you need for a beach holiday and is suited as a base to explore Cornwall. We had a list of places to visit but due to some very sunny weather we spent more time on the beach! If we visit Cornwall again it will be at Higher Close. Thank you.
