Marazion may seem like a typical sleepy Cornish town, but who would have thought that it harbours a culinary gem ? A feature in the “Top 30 Seaside restaurants” by The Times and the distinction of “Best Restaurant in the South West” at the 2013 Food Magazine Readers Awards give a hint at the exceptionality of this family-run business.
The contemporary dishes that Ben and his brother create reflect traditional Cornish cookery and, using only the finest ingredients the regional produce has to offer, are arranged with greatest care and creativity. Better still, the cherry on top is that you can choose from an excellent variety of top-class wines to accompany them.
Now, if you’re thinking that all this praise may have made the restaurant something of a formal affair then rest assured that it’s just as relaxed as when it started out. Whether to dress up or down is still up to you and Ben’s Cornish Kitchen kept its welcoming and relaxed attitude, echoing the laid-back atmosphere of picturesque Marazion that makes it so popular amongst young artists and worldly-wise cosmopolitans alike.
Early booking is strongly recommended.
