Looe music Festival isn’t quite like any other…you don’t have to camp, you can dine on fresh seafood from the local waters during the day, and you’re free to drop in and out as you please. The pretty little fishing town of Looe welcomes music lovers 18th – 20th September, and the beach provides the setting for hundreds of live acts including Jools Holland, The Proclaimers and Johnny Marr.
The live entertainment centres around the beach (and if you’ve never watched a festival with the sea shimmering behind you then you haven’t lived), as well as around the harbour and at various locations throughout the town. The line-up always includes a mixture of big names from all over the world and local talent to give visitors an experience of the sounds of Cornwall, and previous years have seen the likes of Seth Lakeman, Squeeze, Reef, The Darkness and The Stranglers giving sandy performances.
This is one of Cornwall’s most laidback festivals (and that’s saying something!), so everyone’s welcome and the streets of Looe fill with wandering visitors exploring the area between acts. Expect everything from folk to punk, hip hop to indie at the festival, and remember – everyone’s welcome.
