Although South Cornwall has an abundance of beautiful natural spaces and attractions to visit, few are as intriguing and fascinating as Carnglaze Caverns. In this former slate mine you’ll be taken 150 metres into the hillside and 60 metres below ground where you can explore enchanting caves, learn how the mine worked and end up at a truly mesmerising underground lake with perfectly clear turquoise water.
The caverns have a temperature of 10° all year round making it the perfect activity whether the sun is shining and you need to cool down, or on a rainy day. On your walk through the caves, you’ll discover beautiful minerals and crystals – make sure you bring your camera to capture these beautiful sights.
Once you’ve explored the mystical caves, why not take a stroll through the wonderful woodland walk and terrace garden, filled with bluebells in spring. The walk through Quarry Wood is almost as enchanting as the caverns themselves, and end with a breathtaking view over St Neot village. The whole site is dog friendly so why not bring your four legged friend to enjoy this day out with you? Before you head home for the evening, be sure to visit the crystal and craft store to bring home a special souvenir.
